25.01.2022 Pacific Werribee is having a Father's Day give away! You just need to share what makes you thankful for your dad to enter.

25.01.2022 James showed great interest in the number matching activity and was able to match the numbers to the correct spot, he also used language as he talked and counted with educator Erna.

25.01.2022 This week has been a little different in the centre with foyer drop off and pickups commencing, some children have been a little hesitant with the changes taking place, but its great to see that the children are still happy and settled in their environments.

24.01.2022 During science week the children enjoyed an oil and eater experiment. They wanted to see if they could make a chemical reaction by mixing the water with oil. In order to observe the change we added food colouring to the water.

23.01.2022 Happy Easter to all our wonderful families. Enjoy some much deserved time with your family and friends over this long weekend and stay safe. See you all Tuesday morning when we are back in the centre.

23.01.2022 Cruz started to notice the benefits and pleasures of shared learning exploration while playing with Jacob. He was able to negotiate roles and relationships by sharing the play episodes with Jacob. Cruz experienced the satisfaction of achievement and shared the happiness through giggles with Jacob. This cooperative play helped Cruz to make friendships with others children.

23.01.2022 During science week the children enjoyed creating colourful exploding lemon volcanoes.

23.01.2022 Cruz has developed confidence and comfort in his environment by expressing his thoughts and ideas to his peers and initiating the play experiences of his choice. He showed great understanding of following instructions when asked too as well as waiting patiently for his turn to role play as the wolf. He also showed how he can work together as a team to get away from the wolf.

22.01.2022 The toddler room have created an area for reptiles based on children’s interests and most of the children have been engaging in this learning experience. To extend on this we brought our centre turtle Bubba into the room for a visit. The children were excited and curious with the turtle. Some of them were a little unsure and were a little reluctant to touch Bubba, after they saw educators touching the turtle they calmed a little and some were ok to try, others were happy to just watch Bubba wonder around on the floor.

22.01.2022 We ask families regularly to provide feedback on our centre and ask what we do well and what needs improvement. We use the feedback to make changes to the centre when required. Unfortunately, due to Covid-19 and the uncertainty of what would happen if in case my child was exposed to virus we decided to unenrol my child. The centre kept in contact with me and did a great job of offering me options for care. I'm really sad to have pulled my son out of care as it is the first time this has happened after 8 years and 4 children go through the centre! The centre has a lovely and warm team of educators. Just fantastic at what they do :) Linda and the team have always been amazing. They're willing to assist with whatever we needed as a family. Keep up the great work team, we are looking forward to returning in 2021.

21.01.2022 Music is great way for children to express themselves and make meaning through the use of music. Educators supported the children through the use of the musical instruments to express themselves verbally and non verbally. Exploring musical instruments helped children to learn how different instruments work and the sounds they create.

20.01.2022 During science week the Toddlers experimented by mixing the food colours into milk to watch the results as it made a marble effect.

20.01.2022 During science week the Kinder children enjoyed coming in each morning to see where the water levels were in the rainbow jars.

19.01.2022 On Wednesday 2 September its Early Childhood Educators Day! This is a wonderful opportunity for us to recognise and celebrate the amazing team we have here at Goodstart Hoppers Crossing Heaths Road. This has been a big year for everyone at our centre and we were hoping you would join us in celebrating this in a special way this year. There are so many ways families can also show their love, such as:... -Create a card to say thanks! -Draw a portrait of your educator -Video message from child to their educator Thank you so much for your support, we are looking forward to brightening up the day together with you!

19.01.2022 When families who have been at the centre with several children over many years, it's so hard to say goodbye. Then we received this and knew that we had made an impact on their children's first years and it validates why we do what we do. We recently moved out of the area so had to make the tough decision to move centres. The staff at this centre have been family for the past 7 years and it was a very hard decision to leave. Me and my family have so much love and appreciatio...n for all of the staff at this centre and wish them all nothing but the best. For the past 7 years attending this centre my girls have experienced staff/ carers of different cultures, gender and backgrounds and every single one of them has had a positive impact on my family. They have learnt everyday life skills from washing their hands and being a good friend to educational skills counting, alphabet, drawing, reading, writing. This has all been done in a fun and exciting way. I cannot thank them enough for the safe and loving environment they have provided us with. See more

18.01.2022 This Nursery child has shown a great interest in building with blocks. He came and sat with his key educator at the building blocks, at first when he tried to build with the blocks he had a little trouble connecting the blocks. His key educator showed him how to connect the blocks and he then continued to have a go, soon he was able to connect some blocks together and then he tried some more.

17.01.2022 Caring for our centre rabbit is natural for our children and Thumper enjoys the attention as he has been at the centre since he was only a few weeks old and this is his natural environment. They get excited when they see him out exploring the yards and leap at the opportunity to feed, pet and brush Thumper.

16.01.2022 many of our children have returned to the centre after a long period at home due to covid and isolation periods. It is good to see that our children who were unsettled on return have adjusted back into their routine and have begun enjoying their new environment and being back in the centre.

16.01.2022 Today some of the children participated in an outdoor painting experience where the children could paint different natural objects such rocks, shells, bark and sticks. The Children have shown they are able to use their creativity and imagination to explore nature in different ways. The children are able to offer their own thoughts and ideas with others and make choices for themselves as they selected which item to paint and what colours to mix to make the different colours to use.

15.01.2022 A nursery child sat with an educator as he concentrated and played with the abacus, educator started to count and the child responded as he tried to communicate by making sounds, while continuing to manipulate the beads from one end to the other. During this experience he played contentedly as he moved the beads around making sounds. He listened to the educator as we counted.

14.01.2022 Isaac has shown great confidence whilst exploring his outdoor environment by engaging himself with a variety of experiences. He found it a little bit challenging to walk on the balancing beams but he persisted to reach the end of the frame. At times he falls down but stands up again and continues to walk on frames.

14.01.2022 We have made several changes to the centre and practices we conduct daily to ensure that we are keeping everyone safe during these challenging times. Our covid safe plan is at the front of everything we do to ensure we are protecting all children, families and members of our team. It's nice to know that families are satisfied with our dedication to staying safe. The implementation of extra hygiene practices has been great and makes us feel confident in sending our child.

13.01.2022 Emotion coaching is a huge part of our Kinder program. Cameron was able to successfully sort and match the emotions to the correct one as he engaged in this sorting activity and was also able to name and label some emotions. Cameron is able to communicate his ideas and thoughts with his educators.

13.01.2022 Henry his key educator had a small discussion about traditional Aboriginal painting and the colours they traditionally used. Henry chose his own rock and used cotton tips and traditional colours to make different patterns and also enjoyed mixing them together. As Henry participated in this activity he is using these opportunities to develop understanding about culture, heritage and traditions.

13.01.2022 One of our Pre Kinder children was doing something at sand pit and was approached by a teacher who asked him, "What are you doing?" He said, "I am making a cake." He had tried to put the sand bowl upside down to make a cake but it didn’t work on the first few attempts. The teacher encouraged him to try again and once he made a good shape of the cake, he smiled at the teacher and said, "Look! I did it."

12.01.2022 Centre Closures over the Easter long weekend: Friday 2nd April Monday 5th April

12.01.2022 Whilst exploring our Nurseys outdoor environment Alannah discovered the book 'That's not my bunny', she sat and turned the pages, stopping occasionally to feel the different parts of the bunny as it contained a variety of sensory materials. She was able to turn the pages. She kept turning the pages back and forth. Later she was joined by an educator who read the words on the pages to her.

11.01.2022 It is always great to receive feedback from our new, existing and exiting families. Hoppers Crossing Director, Linda and everybody at the front office are very approachable, helpful and accommodating. I hope this continues and that they may help more families.

10.01.2022 Hanan explored the farm animal experience in the Nursery. Throughout this experience he was able to use verbal communication towards educators and peers and also demonstrate his knowledge of animal sounds.

06.01.2022 We are constantly using recycled items to make into something useful. The Pre Kinder children made lace and sewing shapes from used boxes. First, they discuss the names and colours of the shapes. The children picked the colour lace they wanted and were curious to sew the lace through the holes. Occasionally the children would ask for help when the lace got stuck. Lacing shapes is a great activity to improve hand-eye coordination, develop fine motor skills, build pincer grip, improve attention, and develop patience and perseverance. The simultaneous use of childrens hands and eyes as they insert the tip of the lace into the holes improves their eye-hand coordination. By using the index finger and the thumb to grasp the tip of the lace, children are building their pincer grip.

04.01.2022 It is always exciting to revisit learning to help children achieve their learning goals. What is even more exciting is when we get to continue to help children grow and develop over years. Here is Joseph enjoying a building experience in the Nursery a few years back and then again this year.

04.01.2022 A little something from Tess and I to the team to let them know we are grateful for them and all they do for the children and families of the centre. You are all amazing and Tess and I couldnt be successful in our roles without you all and your dedication to the centre. We make a wonderful team and were so lucky to have each other.

03.01.2022 This morning Sarah was sitting on the couch and Charlie had then approached Sarah by saying Hi Sarah then said Sit down Charlie and was tapping the couch. Charlie then sat and Sarah gave Charlie a book to read and said there you go Charlie I then said to Sarah "nice sharing Sarah, good job!" Sarah then smiled. To extend Sarahs learning on sharing the educators will encourage her to continue sharing with her peers.

03.01.2022 Beading is a great activity that can help children to develop and strengthen their fine motor skills. These skills later help them to draw, write, do up buttons, open lunch boxes and more. The children were very patient and focused on the task.

03.01.2022 Wishing all our dads, step dads, grandads and special men in our lives a very happy Fathers Day today! Hope your day is filled with love, joy, breakfast in bed, beers, a lot of your favourite things and this year probably FaceTimes.

03.01.2022 Our Nursery children are becoming so independent and are reaching new milestones all the time. Climbing the nappy changing stairs can be difficult, but with the assistance of key educators it makes it that bit easier. Independent eating can be messy, but it is all part of the fun and journey to developing new skills.
