23.01.2022 In the nursery we have been focusing on measuring each child and discovering just how tall they all are! These measurements have been completed by standing each child up against the giraffe measuring chart! During these learning experiences, we have shared in laughter, smiles, and have shown a lot of interest by investigating and engaging with the height chart.
22.01.2022 The kindergarten are recycling the boxes in the box construction area. Children used imagination to make a rock band. Children found wooden sticks and boxes and combined the two together to create a heaps of noise and singing. Children today asked miss Brooke to join their rock band. Miss Brooke taught them the rock on hand signals and we then play to the song we will rock you by queen . After a few practices children then asked the rest of the kindy class if they would like to sit and watch them. This was a little wild of a rock band with the crowd going wild and the guitars. ROCK ON KINDY Rock band taught children rhythm and listing to the beats and also having fun, children also had great satisfaction with there achievement of the kindy rock Band. Miss Nicole made the guitar and microphone for our rock band

Children added red glitter to this when they finished.
21.01.2022 This week as part of Science Week in the Toddlers room, we did a simple but fun science experiment using only two ingredients which are skittles candy and water. I chose this experiment as I know children will be fascinated with the colours aside from they will find it interesting considering we are using some candy pieces.

20.01.2022 Today the Prekindy and Kindergarten children enjoyed having their noses painted.
20.01.2022 We then kicked off the week with an experiment for today is the start of SCIENCE WEEK . We filled up a tub of water and experimented with different objects to predict whether they would float or sink. We all received something to put in the tub and would show all our friends what it was before putting our hands up or thumbs up to predict if the object would float or thumbs down if we thought it would sink. The children really seemed to enjoy this experiment and we got a shocked when we seen some objects float when we thought they would sink. The orange was a great example, we all thought the peeled orange would define float but it sunk!!! The unpeeled orange was the one that floated... Amazing
20.01.2022 The children all enjoyed riding their scooters around the scooter track we made down in the main yard. We all made sure we wore our helmets and shared our scooters with the other children if they didnt bring theirs in, which they mostly all did. Miss Simone even came down for a ride.
19.01.2022 We put together a bunch of recycled boxes and placed them in the soft fall for the children to explore. They created a fort and then began stacking them on top of each other singing build it up as they collected them. They used coordination to manoeuvre the large boxes and place balance them on top of each other.
19.01.2022 Miss Simone also created a fun vegetable and fruit garden using coco pops as the dirt and adding strawberries, carrots, broccoli and cauliflower to the garden. The children found the coco pop dirt yummy and were even adventurous trying the strawberries and carrots.
19.01.2022 Happy 2nd Birthday to Annaka.
18.01.2022 Hope all our dads have a lovely day.
17.01.2022 We used a candle and some water colour. Children were given a piece of paper with their name written on it in candle wax which couldnt be seen until they painted over it! This is also helping with name and letter recognition which we are also focusing on at the moment.

14.01.2022 We went downstairs for PE lessons and the children had the great pleasure to have Miss Simone join us for PE Today we did go go stop game with Miss Simone. This was so fun, Miss Simone was a little tired after this. We then played a game called over the head. Due to it being a little windy outside we couldnt play tunnel ball so we play over the head game. Children had to pass the ball over their head. The children in behind had to make sure the were concentrating for this to be successful. Miss Simone was on one team and Miss Brooke helped support the other team this was so fun. This helps children with hand eye coordination skills. Children then enjoyed 10 minutes of free play. Children enjoyed playing hide and seek, sandpit fun, swings, climbing on the rock wall and play games with the balls.
14.01.2022 Happy birthday Miss Sammy
14.01.2022 In the room today we spent the first half of our morning in our outdoor learning environment, where we engaged in some body painting! We stripped all of our clothes off and explored the yellow, pink and gold glitter paint. We used our hands, fingers, feet, tummys and bottoms to create a beautiful masterpiece! This was really beautiful to watch as each child explored the paint differently.
14.01.2022 First aid refresher, for team Maroochydore.

12.01.2022 We have been continuing our butterfly life cycles. We finished off our leaf prints, adding a cotton ball egg, and have put them up on the wall to start our display along with our caterpillars. The next step in the cycle is the cocoon! We used some brown paper bags, cutting them into strips. We then scrunched them up to make a cocoon shape. We will be gluing these onto some sticks and adding them to our display.
12.01.2022 We had lots of fun outside using the bark pit with trucks and added shovels and children wore their vest. Children built big mud hills for the trucks to go up and over. Children enjoyed then picking up the dirt from around the garden bed and putting it back into the garden using the wheelbarrow.
12.01.2022 Come join our Team!!!
11.01.2022 2020 has been a challenging year for everyone and circumstances have made it even more important for us all to stay connected and, for those who are able, be willing to support those around us. In the lead-up to R U OK?Day well help Australians know what to say when someone says theyre not OK and guide them through how they can continue a conversation that could change a life. You dont have to be an expert to keep the conversation going when someone says theyre not OK. By knowing what to say you can help someone feel supported and access appropriate help long before theyre in crisis, which can make a really positive difference to their life. Thank you to everyone for dressing up today.
11.01.2022 We repotted our corn plants. They ave grown so much in the last two weeks that they were getting too big for the container we planted them in. We each transferred one corn plant to paper cup, after scooping in some dirt for it to live in. We looked at the life cycle of a plant, and compared what we had seen with our own plants. It was very interesting! We also watered our corn plants in their new homes, but not too much so that the cup didnt get too wet. We used a syringe to suck up some water and squirt it into our cups. We will have to remember to do this each day.
11.01.2022 Happy birthday Miss Lauren
06.01.2022 Thank you to everyone who has joined in book week so far this week.
03.01.2022 Why is this important and what do children get from being creative? When children apply paint to paper, glue things together, or pound a lump of clay, they experiment with colour, shape design and texture. Children express their individual ideas and feelings with art materials such as paint, clay, markers, crayons, paste and collage materials. As they view their own creation and those of their friends, they learn to value and appreciate differences. For young children the process of creating is what is most important, not what they actually create.
03.01.2022 Happy 2nd birthday to Lottie.
03.01.2022 Happy birthday to Alexis.
02.01.2022 What a wonderful week watching all the amazing costumes come in for book week. Children had big smiles and did amazing role play in their special books week costume. Children even brought in special stories for their Educators to share with the class. Thats a wrap for 2020 Book week
01.01.2022 Last week during our NAIDOC week, we did our Centre Acknowledgement of Country to pay respects to the Gubbi Gubbi people who are the traditional custodians of the land on which we play and learn. Miss Renee used the dot painting technique to paint our faces.
01.01.2022 It is very important to check in on childrens well-being, so today Miss Brooke and Miss Renee did some facials, nails, hand massages and cool hair styles. Children loved relaxing and chilling out while we pampered them all in their own individual way. Some wanted just hair done , some children wanted facials, some children wanted the whole pampering. Girls enjoyed the Elsa hair style and the boys liked the Mohawk style hair doos. Children said that the facials tickled them when they got them done, they said it felt funny and smelt like honey . Once the children were ready Miss Brooke had a nice warm washer ready to remove of their facials off.
