25.01.2022 Some parents feel that three years old is too early for children to be in kindergarten. But when you consider the natural desire of young children to learn, explore and play, the play-based learning curriculum in Goodstart centres is a perfect match. Play is the foundation of learning for children. It’s how they make sense of the world around them, hypothesise and experiment, learn to negotiate, understand their feelings and so much more. The best part of all however, is that it’s fun! It keeps children coming back for more and helps them form positive feelings towards learning.

20.01.2022 Are u ok? 2020 has been a challenging year for everyone and circumstances have made it even more important for us all to stay connected and, for those who are able, be willing to support those around us. Staying connected to others is critical at this time. It helps remind us that we are not alone and that we have support. If you or someone you know is struggling with physical distancing, reaching out and connecting to them is an important reminder that together we can get t...hrough this. If you’re feeling well and able to support someone, reach out and let them know you’re there to help now and for as long as it takes. Look out for any changes in the way people communicate: Consider the tone and language they’re using. Are they posting more or less? Are they answering your calls? If you are concerned about someone, trust your gut and ask, Are you OK?. Listen with an open mind to what they have to say and ask them what you can do to help.....

20.01.2022 As the situation around COVID-19 continues to evolve we know many families are facing incredibly tough times. The uncertainly and stress is taking a toll on everyone, and it's important that families know that there may be additional child care subsidy support available to them over the coming weeks and months. This is an evolving situation that is impacting families across Australia in many different ways.... We strongly encourage you to apply for support if your income has been reduced or impacted by COVID-19 or any other significant event in your life. Sometimes, it can take time for your application to be approved, so it’s a good idea to apply before free child care ends on 12 July 2020 ACCS- Additional Child Care Subsidy-Financial Hardship

17.01.2022 A well-rounded kindergarten curriculum Many three and four year old children are already in child care, but it’s important to know the differences between what you might consider ‘normal’ child care and a dedicated, high quality kindergarten program. Our kindergarten program is a structured play based program that aligns with QLD kindergarten curriculum and delivered by a University qualified teacher. The program is well rounded and provides children with a fun, play-based ...environment in which to build skills like: Social-emotional learning Language and literacy Science, technology, engineering and maths Drama and pretend play Creative arts Physical activity and active play With our engaging and fun play-based learning approach, the learning comes naturally. With smaller class sizes, individual learning plans and qualified educators, our Kindergarten children thrive in our kindergarten program and into prep and their future schooling years. See more

15.01.2022 We are intentional in the design and presentation of our environments to ensure that children have exposure to meaningful print. While we are excited for these spaces we also want to acknowledge that the children's early literacy and numeracy skills are by no means restricted to these areas. We can see the childrens emerging skills and educators build and scaoffold children's learning to suit their needs and ability to achieve the best outcome for every child, every day.

09.01.2022 Reading to infants and children produces more benefit than you’d imagine, in fact, reading is essential for later school and life success. In the first five years, a child’s brain is developing rapidly and at a faster rate than any other time of their life. Reading builds a child’s vocabulary and interesting illustrations and rhymes can encourage them to talk about what they are seeing and thinking.

07.01.2022 Dear Parents, We see you. We see you worrying that your child shouldn’t be here while you are working from home. We see you worrying that you have just lost your job, or closed your business, and what that means for your family, your future. We see you, feeling relief as you walk in the door and see children playing normally. We see you, needing time to take care of business, to take care of yourself. We see you, and we very much appreciate your loyalty, your kind words and your support over the last few months. We are so glad to see all our families making their way back to the centre and the children reuniting with their friends. We are looking forward to continuing our relationship with you and having a GREAT rest of 2020!

06.01.2022 Hi Goodstart families! As you know the Government announced today that the 'free childcare' package will expire on 12 July and that the CCS system will return from 13 July, along with new transition measures (up until October) to support the sector and parents as they move back to the subsidy. This announcement is a little bit complex so we are working hard to understand what this means for our families and for Goodstart. We will provide an update to our centres and our families later today and over the coming days as we learn more. #5weekstogo!
