24.01.2022 National NAIDOC dates and NAIDOC Poster announced: The National NAIDOC Committee has confirmed the new dates for this years NAIDOC focus will be from the 8-15 N...ovember. The new national dates come as a result of the original dates being postponed due to the COVID-19 pandemic. This years NAIDOC poster winner is Noongar and Saibai Islander man Tyrown Waigana, who is an artist and designer based in Perth. The winning artwork, depicting this years NAIDOC theme 'Always was, always will be,' is titled - Shape of Land. The design features the Rainbow Serpent coming out of the Dreamtime to create this country and how we are strongly connected to it. 16.01.2022 Did someone say Disney!! Welcome to another fun day of dress up for Bridge road. We had Mary Poppins, Minnie Mouse, Moana and so many princesses turn up today. So much fun for the whole centre.

16.01.2022 Have you met the dream team? Tahlia and Aaron are our amazing Kindergarten teachers here at Goodstart Mackay Bridge Road. They can often be seen Zumba-ing in the afternoon, engaging in quality small group experiences and using their artistic flair within the room to enhance their group project activities. Tahlia and Aaron work hard at readying the Kindergarten group for prep the next year by incorporating a 'classroom' into the learning space and exploring different school uniforms.

10.01.2022 Hi Goodstart families! As you know the Government announced yesterday that the 'free childcare' package will expire on 12 July and that the CCS system will return from 13 July, along with new transition measures (up until October) to support the sector and parents as they move back to the subsidy. This announcement is a little bit complex so we are working hard to understand what this means for our families and for Goodstart. We will provide an update to our centres and our families later today and over the coming days as we learn more. #5weekstogo!

08.01.2022 Our Babies and Toddlers all celebrated World Oceans Day today in Centre 2. We learnt all about the different ocean animals and had lots of sensory play with real starfish and even jelly. We all finished off our afternoon with blue ocean jelly cups. Happy World Oceans Day!!

03.01.2022 The Terrific Two! Jaspreet and Georgia are our Pre-Kindergarten Educators. Together they work tirelessly to support your children's learning and development through play based learning experiences. They encourage you child's self help skills readilying them for Kindergarten the following year. They love to engage the children in small group opportunities but also explore areas of interest as a whole group.

03.01.2022 Changes to CCS until 4 October - easing of the activity test The Government will ease the activity test requirements from 13 July until 4 October to support eligible families whose employment has been impacted as a result of COVID-19. The new rules will enable individuals who can no longer engage in the same number of hours of work, training, study or other activity that they did prior to the COVID-19 crisis to access 100 hours of subsidised care per fortnight for up to 13 w...eeks. This measure will support a family’s ability to access subsidised care if their activity circumstances have fallen but will require: Income estimation from families to qualify plus will be capped at 85 per cent. From 13 July 2020, families will be able to advise Services Australia they meet these requirements to access the 100 hours. This can be done through their Centrelink online account through myGov or the Express Plus Centrelink mobile APP.
