23.01.2022 You have have noticed some little signs educator's are placing around the room and wondered why ? ? These are provocations for learning. Goodstart has taken on the Environmental rating scale (ERS) which is a guide that helps educators develop learning areas that help children learn and grow.. These provocations spark learning, encourages creativity, gives inspiration, helps with learning direction and scaffolds children's development. Take a closer look next time you visit the centre.

16.01.2022 Learning about nature is a huge part of our curriculum at Goodstart Middle ridge. We just pulled out the massive tomato bush and are getting ready to plant some yummy pumpkins. We collected the seeds from Miss Lizzie's kitchen and are getting ready to plant them very soon.

14.01.2022 Last year, Goodstart launched its Behaviour Support Kit materials which have proven to be highly useful in helping to teach young children behaviour expectations, prosocial skills and self-regulation. To extend this learning into homes, the Goodstart@Home team has now developed a Behaviour Support Kit for families. By using a familiar approach and resources at home, parents can further support their children to understand their big emotions and how to communicate their needs ...in an effective way. Parents like Jess Buckley, are loving having the Behaviour Support Kit on hand to help them set up routines, and work through emotions and behaviours at home. https://youtu.be/yq7LV-frHU8

13.01.2022 Children are naturally inquisitive and with this we extend their leaning. The Kindergarten children have been learning all about safety right down to knowing what different safety signs mean. Watching the tradies has been the highlight of this week. Lots of questions around what they are doing at each step of the way. We cannot wait for it all to be finished.

10.01.2022 Children do best when life is on an even keel and their parents have the support they need. National Child Protection Week is all about celebrating the many ways big and small that everyone in the community can make a difference in the life of a child. Most importantly, we need to recognise that parenting is like sailing a boat; it takes skill and practice, anyone can encounter rough waters from time to time, and we can all do our bit to help build the safe harbours and lighthouses that all families need.
