22.01.2022 Lest We Forget #WeWillRememberThem

20.01.2022 Growing giant sunflowers was an amazing activity. We were able to measure the very speedy growth. Some days the plant would grow up to 12cm over night. The head of the sunflower grew huge. It was heavy and round. We discussed the different things sunflower seeds can do such as we could eat them, feed the birds or we could replant. Checking in on our sunflower has been A daily experience for 2 months.

19.01.2022 ss s ss The nursery children were provided the opportunity to engage in an experience that allowed them to explore many skills. Sensory play supports language development, cognitive growth, fine and gross motor skills, problem solving skills, and social interaction.

19.01.2022 Something for the holidays...

17.01.2022 Toddlers explore their surroundings with fingers and hands, often getting into everything within reach. A finger/hand painting activity is a great way to encourage some hands-on discovery with the added benefit of fine motor and sensory play. Today our Toddies had great fun using their creative thinking and skills.. You can’t use up CREATIVITY, the more you use the more you have - Maya Angelou

16.01.2022 Spring has sprung and our yard is in full bloom with flowers everywhere. A great space to enquire, explore and discover within nature.

16.01.2022 We think it’s safe to say that 2020 has been a year unlike any other. For the world, for Australia and for our Goodstart team. Over the past few months people, ...families and communities have been tried and tested in the most extraordinary ways. As frontline essential workers our ‘Goodstarters’ rose to this challenge, stepping up to support our 60,000 families and 71,000 children through some incredibly challenging times. So we’ve declared this week Thank You Week! A week to celebrate and recognise our 10,000+ Goodstarters for continuing to go above and beyond in face of adversity. We have a few special surprises planned for our Goodstarters this week, but in the meantime we'd love for our Goodstart families to get involved too! Please share your messages of thanks and support below and tag an educator or a centre who has really made a difference. #ThankYouWeek #InThisTogether

15.01.2022 A big thank you to one of our valued community partners St Philomenas Catholic School for paying it forward to us on Friday and providing our staff with a free coffee - we love coffee!!!!!! Today we are paying it forward to the staff at Gwydir Medical who have assisted us recently with flu vaccinations for our staff

13.01.2022 Come in to the centre and support two great causes! Buy a pair of $5 silly socks where all proceeds go to Ronald McDonald House and McDonalds Moree will donate and additional $2.50 to our centre for every pair sold!

12.01.2022 From seed, to harvest, to smelling / tasting and eating nutritious food our garden has given the preschoolers alot of rich learning this year. We have planted and cared for our plants, Measured the growth and noticed the change before harvest. We have tantalised our senses with smell and taste of A variety of different herbs in our foccacia bread and stir fry. We delighted in trying roasted pumpkin seeds and loved them. Pumpkin soup also got the thumbs up. A love for nutritious food makes us grow up healthy. Nurturing our plants creates empathy and gentleness and a sense of calm.

11.01.2022 We just wanted to take a moment, to wish all our beautiful families a very merry Christmas and a happy new year! 2020 has offered us a unique set of circumstances and challenges, that have pushed us to think outside of the box, grow and adapt. While this year has been a crazy roll coaster ride with lots of highs and a few lows, we are all very much looking forward to 2021. We would like to thank our families for sticking with us and their continued support. We hope you all have a restful and relaxing holiday period!

10.01.2022 Role Playing Bathing Babies Over the past few weeks the children in the Toddler and Nursery spaces have been expressing interest in dramatic play with the baby dolls. Some children have been observed pretending to feed, bath and nuture the baby dolls. There are benefits of the children engaging in these types of pretend play scenarios. By dressing, feeding and bathing dolls, children are able to enhance their fine-motor skills. By role playing and interacting wit...h other children they practice language and social skills, including sharing, cooperation and empathy. Communicating between one another can also strengthen their vocabulary. References: Childventures

08.01.2022 Congratulations! I hope you enjoy your chocolates.

06.01.2022 With Harvest in full swing.. it isn’t surprising that we have had lots of wheat coming in for show and tell. The transition children will be exploring from seed to table, all the nutritious natural foods that we can grow and eat. We already harvested some wonderful produce from our vegetable garden. And will be milling our own flour and making pizza topped with sweet potato. Watch this space
