24.01.2022 Words of wisdom Sunday Children need the freedom and time to play. Play is not a luxury. Play is a necessity.- Kay Redfield Jamison #MoretonDowns #WordsOfWisdomSunday #ComeJoinTheFunToday

22.01.2022 A big thank you to Miss Rae and her family for repurposing a broken easel and creating our Community Mobile Garden. How amazing does it look! Today our Nursery children got to explore the mobile garden. Feel free to check out our mobile garden at the front entrance. We will have spray bottles located out the front for the children to water the plants. This will help the children to show a growing awareness and appreciation for our new plants. #MoretonDowns #MobileGarden #Repurposing #CommunityGarden #ComeJoinTheFunToday

18.01.2022 Today we continued celebrating NAIDOC Week with Storytime’. Traditional stories have existed for thousands of years and guided many before us on their understanding of the world and we hope that these stories can give children some insight into the world that existed before them. #MoretonDowns #NAIDOCWeek

15.01.2022 It’s Monday! Don’t forget to be awesome! #MoretonDowns #HappyMonday

13.01.2022 Just a reminder our centre is closed today Monday 3rd of May for Labour Day Public Holiday. There are no account charges for Public Holidays. One of the many benefits for our families. We hope you have a wonderful day! See you Tuesday ready for another week of fun. #MoretonDowns

11.01.2022 As a part of our NAIDOC experiences, today we enjoyed exploring the virtual museum tour. At group time each room used their iPads to allow the children to have a tour of the museum while discussing different elements of the museum and why they are there. Our Senior Toddlers did an amazing job making their very own damper while our Pre-Kindergarten children enjoyed making their own paperbark hand prints extending on from a story they read called Solid Rock. #MoretonDowns #NAIDOCWEEK

11.01.2022 Studies have shown that the best way for children to learn is through experience. ‘Cooking with kids is not just about ingredients, recipes and cooking. Its about harnessing imagination, empowerment and creativity’ Guy Fieri #moretondowns #earlylearning #cookingwithkids

11.01.2022 We are excited to celebrate National NAIDOC Week next week, 8-15 November. Attached is our NAIDOC week program celebrating the richness of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander cultures. At Goodstart Moreton Downs we support and encourage all our children to learn about our nation’s first people and their culture. #NAIDOCWeek, #NAIDOC2020 #AlwaysWasAlwaysWillBe

10.01.2022 They shall grow not old, as we that are left grow old: Age shall not weary them, nor the years condemn. At the going down of the sun and in the morning, we will remember them - Laurence Binyon #MoretonDowns

08.01.2022 Miss Nikki and Miss Tasma spent a fun morning at our community Under 5’s Day by the Sea. Thank you to DBay Families for hosting this wonderful event. #communtiyspirit #moretondowns #dbcyp

08.01.2022 This week is the start of NAIDOC week at Moreton Downs, today we enjoyed ‘Caring for Country’. This basically means that no matter how long we have been here, we are all standing on Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander land. We have a responsibility to care for it, respect it and hopefully feel a connection to it. We talked to the children about ways we can do this. We watered our gardens to help the plants grow and talked about how food comes from the land and we eat it. This is one way we are connected to the land. We also discussed ways to respect our land, ie, keep it clean (don’t drop our rubbish everywhere), be sustainable and recycle, save water and don’t waste paper to help save the trees. #MoretonDowns #NAIDOCWEEK #CaringForCountry

08.01.2022 Today is a new day to learn something new! #MoretonDowns

07.01.2022 Hi DBay Families -- sadly we have made the call to cancel the dads and kids BBQ due to the forcasted rain. We will reschedule as soon as we can. So please keep watching our page for a new date.

07.01.2022 Today our Pre-Kindergarten children enjoyed making potions with flower petals, rosemary, lavender, coloured water and glitter. The children enjoyed using the scissors to cut some of the plants and explore their sensory, fine motor skills, social skills, communication, language skills, mark making and imagination. #MoretonDowns #PreKindergarten #ComeJoinTheFunToday

05.01.2022 Our nursery children love puppet time with Miss Linda. Puppets open a new world of communication that supports the development of language skills and offer children an engaging way to interact and explore their knowledge and understanding of the world. #earlylearning #puppets #nursery

04.01.2022 Wishing all of our Mums, Aunty’s, Grandmothers and care givers a very happy Mother’s Day. We hope you enjoyed our coffee and tea take home cups. #mothersday2021 #MoretonDowns #comejointhefun
