Providing them with provocations through sensory play and literacy supports the childern to extend on and follow their own interest, leading to a multitude of further learning oportunites. I wonder where this exerience will take us?

24.01.2022 Happy Friday Everyone. What a week we have had. Everyday is changing but one thing will always stay the same our passion for our children, families and community. I hope you all have a good weekend.

24.01.2022 Foodbank: Open TODAY Do not come in if you are sick. Service will be refused and you will be asked to leave. If you are sick please send someone to pick u...p what you need. We would appreciate it if you called ahead to tell us who will be coming in on your behalf. We have implemented some extra precautions to ensure the safety of our staff, volunteers and community. Volunteers or staff working in foodbank will now be wearing facemasks. Firstly, there we will continue with the frequent cleaning of our surface areas and bathroom facilities. Secondly, our Staff and volunteers will be increasing their hand washing or using hand santizer. Thirdly, if you are visiting us for foodbank, or any other service or support you will ask you to wash your hands before we serve you. Opens Mon, Wed, Fri 10am - 2pm Please BYO reusable bags. We are experiencing high demand in the Foodbank, therefore we respectfully asked for your patience as we work to support you. The new limits now start at 6 items and go up by 2 for each person in the family. (back to pre covid limits :-) Please be mindful that Foodbank is supported and run by a generous team of community volunteers. #bekind #foodbank #emergencyfoodrelief #poweredbyvolunteers #SDG #Zerohunger

24.01.2022 Our lovely neighbours The Latrobe Heath Assembly are running a positive parenting virtual seminar. Feel free to give them a like and jump on board for this great community opportunity.

23.01.2022 Foodbank: Open Monday Wednesday Friday 10am 2pm Our priority is to keep our foodbank open.... This essential service supports hundreds of people each week in our community and we really need your help to keep it operating as long as we possibly can. To keep everyone as safe as possible and to adhere to the Federal Governments 2 metre social distancing rule. We have now had to make changes to how people access the foodbank. The foodbank is no longer a self serve service. You will be given a pre-packed parcel. Entry to the House will be restricted to outside the entry doors and you can only pick up food parcels. Please Bring your BAGS. Due to increase in demand we can only support people with Latrobe Valley postcodes only. We are experiencing high demand in the Foodbank, therefore we respectfully asked for your patience as we work to support you. As a result of the increase in demand and to ensure we can support as many people as possible we have lowered the number of items going into the packages. The new limits now start at 5 items and go up by 1 for each person in the family. We acknowledge these new limits will cause some hardship and we apologies for that. We are hoping the limits restrictions will only be temporary. These changes will allow us to provide food relief for more people in need. If you are sick please send someone in to pick up what you need. We would appreciate it if you called ahead to tell us who will be coming in on your behalf. Please be mindful that Foodbank is supported and run by a generous team of community volunteers. #bekind #flattenthecurve #weareallinthistogether #foodrelief #spreadtheword

18.01.2022 Do we not have the best families?! Thank you so much for this generous gesture of appreciation. Your kindness made the office staff cry. Not only did the staff receive flowers and chocolates, but you thought of other families in need and donated gift cards for us to give out to some of our families doing it tough. Words can not express how grateful we are. Thank you

15.01.2022 Here at Goodstart Morwell we value group learning opportunities. These small and large group experiences support childern to develop relationships, problem solving, collabortion and negotiation skills while providing a sense of agency and alowing childern to experience a sense of belonging through sharing their own voice and knowledge with their peers.

14.01.2022 We think its safe to say that 2020 has been a year unlike any other. For the world, for Australia and for our Goodstart team. Over the past few months people, ...families and communities have been tried and tested in the most extraordinary ways. As frontline essential workers our Goodstarters rose to this challenge, stepping up to support our 60,000 families and 71,000 children through some incredibly challenging times. So weve declared this week Thank You Week! A week to celebrate and recognise our 10,000+ Goodstarters for continuing to go above and beyond in face of adversity. We have a few special surprises planned for our Goodstarters this week, but in the meantime wed love for our Goodstart families to get involved too! Please share your messages of thanks and support below and tag an educator or a centre who has really made a difference. #ThankYouWeek #InThisTogether

13.01.2022 Here at Goodstart Morwell, our Kinder room has had a strong focus on exploring Emotions. Childern have enjoyed using our "Embrace your Emotions" Buddies, purchased through School Readiness Funding. This has enabled children to develop their capacity to identify a range of different feelings and emotions that we all experience.

13.01.2022 We absloutly LOVE water play and bubbles! Taking advantage of the warmer weather and sunshine, the children have been experimenting with cause and effect and engaging their senses while developing the skills to negotiate and collaborate with their peers.

11.01.2022 Hi Goodstart families! As you know the Government announced today that the free childcare package will expire on 12 July and that the CCS system will return f...rom 13 July, along with new transition measures (up until October) to support the sector and parents as they move back to the subsidy. This announcement is a little bit complex so we are working hard to understand what this means for our families and for Goodstart. We will provide an update to our centres and our families later today and over the coming days as we learn more. #5weekstogo! See more

10.01.2022 Dear Families, There have been a few Government announcements this week which have prompted a number of questions around absences and fees, so I thought I would share a further update with you all. I can confirm that We are able to waive the gap-fee for any day/s your child is absent during the Stage 3 lockdown period What this means is... If your child is sick we will mark the day as absent and the gap-fee will be waived If you would like your child to attend only some of their booked days each week we are able to waive the gap-fee for the days your child is absent. If your child is not able to attend at all during the lockdown period We are able to keep your childs current booking and waive all gap-fees for days your child is absent Please note we do charge in advance and will apply the gap-fee credit to your account each pay cycle once CCS is confirmed by Government Please note: We ask that you please keep your childs booking in place, even if they cant attend all or some of the time. Your fees will be waived (no cost to you), but the funding we receive from Government (CCS) will help keep our educators employed; and our centres open and ready to welcome you back. The Government has allowed providers to do this so that families are still able to retain their bookings, without having any out of pockets costs. We will also be providing a further update soon on the additional support we will be offering around home learning for children who may need to be at home. CCS allowable absences I know that some of you are concerned that you may exceed your 42 CCS allowable absences for the year if you take extended absences during the Stage 3 lockdown period. I can confirm that today the Government announced an extra 30 absence days for families (72 in total) meaning that a child can be absent for part or all of the six week Stage 3 lockdown period with no out of pocket cost for families. Our priority is to continue to support our children and families through these challenging times. Please reach out to me with any questions you may have. Thanks Amanda and Lizzie
