17.01.2022 When was the last time your body was able to do this?! :)

17.01.2022 One of the benefits of painting is that it can help children communicate their emotions or feelings. Through the use of different colors, they can express themselves without the use of words.

16.01.2022 Our older toddlers and preschoolers just love the monkey bars in our playgroud! By using them, besides having heaps of fun, children are also developing upper extremity and hand strength, as well as coordination. Have you tried it recently?

16.01.2022 Our toddlers are enjoying the new Dr. Seuss 'opposites' cards.

14.01.2022 I see you! :) It is at 15 and 24 months of age that children begin to realize that the reflection they see in the mirror is their own, and they either point to the red nose or try to wipe away the rouge. In other words, they understand that the reflection in the mirror is more than a familiar faceit is their own face. At this time, children are learning that they are different from other people and becoming more aware that others may have beliefs, desires, and feelings that differ from their own. Research has shown that once young children reach this level of self-awareness, new emotions like embarrassment, envy, and empathy emerge.

13.01.2022 Peek-a-boo! Curious minds exploring. :)

12.01.2022 I see you! It is around the 18 months mark that most babies will recognise that it is their own face/body they see in the mirror. Until then, drooling, dancing, and pressing their heads into the glass is more like a social activity they enjoy the company of that other little person looking back at them, but haven't connected it to themselves.

11.01.2022 Who has more fun? Issy or the children? :)

10.01.2022 When was the last time your body could bend this way?! :)

06.01.2022 Block construction encourages children to engage in symbolization and representation, make comparisons, classify, learn about directionality and sequencing and experience divergent thinking and logical reasoning. It provides opportunities for learning about mathematical concepts of size, shape, space and weight, along with developing imagination and creativity.

06.01.2022 Sharing is not always easy, especially when you are young! To share in an age appropriate way, we focus on turn taking and getting along with others rather than on sharing. Our younger toddlers are learning to negotiate resources every day.

02.01.2022 Is there a better spot for painting then in a garden?

02.01.2022 Learn to jump with both feet off the ground - this is a gross motor developmental milestone that requires balance and strength with the awareness of body and motor planning. Practicing this skill bare feet will let the children interact with different and unique textures of the ground as well.

01.01.2022 What says slow down better than a book about a sloth moving in? We are promoting well-being, slowing down and living in the moment with our educators and the children with a beautiful book as a medium.
