25.01.2022 Friday fun in the Kindy yard this morning

25.01.2022 Check out few of our book areas. A Book area is a great way for children to access early reading skills and promote literacy development. Books encourage language development and can extend a child's vocabulary skills offering them the opportunity to experience new words and put them into context.

24.01.2022 After learning about all the prime colours for 1 week each, now in our Snr Toddler space children are really enjoying the Rainbow colour week.....

23.01.2022 In our family group time, out in the play yard, children really enjoyed playing on wheels on the bus song with Miss Karmen. This helped Increases a Children's Imagination When children hear the words to The Wheels On The Bus, they get mental images of a bus going down a road, the people on the bus, and the wheels. These nursey rhyme lyrics permits a child’s imagination to take them on a bus trip full of passengers The children imagine the windshield wipers going back and forth, the doors opening and closing, and more.

23.01.2022 Queensland is home to the nation’s second largest population of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people and our state is enriched by the many languages of ...First Nations peoples. Language carries meaning beyond words and represents a unique context for understanding the world. Have a listen to Mossman State School and learn about great work they did when they were awarded an Indigenous Languages Grant in 2019. Eligible organisations can now apply for a grant of up to $25,000 as part of the Indigenous Languages Grants 2020, to deliver initiatives dedicated to the continuation of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander languages and dialects. 12.01.2022 Children learn best through play. And today we had some volunteer Medical students from JCU to have a medical play with our children to give our children a chance to touch and pretend to use medical items in a safe place, like a playroom or at home. Research shows that medical play can help children feel more comfortable in the hospital. It can also help your child cope with health care in the future. This also learned children. -To become familiar with medical items in a n...on-threatening setting, -To learn about the purpose of medical items, -To get ready for medical procedures through play, -To practice coping with hospital stays or procedures, -To help children feel in control in a pretend medical setting, and -To let your child express feelings about health care experiences with an adult.

09.01.2022 Miss Merline have set up a small world play in our family grouping area to encourages children to share, communicate with each other, and devise roles between themselves. Resolving issues develops an awareness of feelings. Physical Development You may not think small world play benefits a child’s physical development, but it does! Small world play has tangible, physical benefits too. Playing with a small character, vehicle or environment helps to develop children’s motor skil...ls and coordination, not to mention their spatial awareness. Intellectual Development Finally, small world play is a great learning resource. Not only can it teachs children about rules and life within their own community, it can also broaden their knowledge to distant places, cultures and societies.

09.01.2022 Daniels Day Today in our Goodstart centre we dressed in red to raise awareness for children’s safety

08.01.2022 In our Snr Toddler's space children are exlporing diffrent colours. Children usually learn about color during their early years of Learning. The ability to identify colors is considered a marker and milestone in a child’s cognitive process and is often part of early screening for development and educational admittance. Recognizing the colors and identifying the color names is an important part of a child’s development. Early identification of colors helps to create the cognitive link between visual clues and words.

Sensory play helps children to develop and improve their gross and fine motor skills, co-ordination and concentration. It also helps them to learn how to work co-operatively, use their senses to discover their environment, develop their imagination, creative thinking, and ability to problem solve and experiment with solutions.
