23.01.2022 Thank you to all the parents, families and members of the community who have come in to visit us to read books with the children during our Goodstart Nightcliff Book Week. Book week normally happens during the last week of August but has been postponed until October. However, we didnt want to miss out on the opportunity to extend childrens literacy development. Listening and reading is an ongoing interest with our children.

22.01.2022 At Goodstart Nightcliff we have been focusing on enriching children's literacy through our everyday activities. Our educators have been brainstorming different ideas and ways to be able to provide children with a literacy rich environment. Literacy is important as it incorporates different ways of communicating, through music and movement, story telling, visual arts and different texts. This promotes children's oral language development, print awareness, phonological awareness and alphabetic principle. Everyday we provide a 'Literacy Snapshot' to our families on Storypark to make it easier for them to locate and read about what the children have done that day to promote their literacy skills.

We invite you to join in the learning about National Reconciliation Week at home through Goodstart@Home which is free for Goodstart families. At Goodstart the Preschool program is evidence based and is specifically designed for children aged 3-5 years. The curriculum is based on the Early Years Learning Framework, which is delivered by degree-qualified Early Childhood Teachers. This program nurtures children’s collaboration, communication, creativity ...and critical thinking skills.
