22.01.2022 Dear Families, Although the year has been all over the place, we as a Centre still want to celebrate the joys of imagination, curiosity and the awe of wonder through the love of books. This year the theme is Curious Creatures and Wild Minds on the 19th-23rd of October. This whole week will consist of the chance to dress up, if your child would like to join us.
21.01.2022 With much relief we can confirm that the Federal Treasurer and Minister for Education announced that Goodstart WILL BE eligible for the Government's JobKeeper p...ackage. While this won't be introduced into parliament until Wednesday, we know that once passed it will provide some much needed reassurance to our Goodstart teams and enable us to continue to provide high-quality early learning and care to our children and families all over Australia. https://www.goodstart.org.au//goodstart-welcomes-new-jobke See more
20.01.2022 Hi Goodstart families! As you know the Government announced today that the 'free childcare' package will expire on 12 July and that the CCS system will return f...rom 13 July, along with new transition measures (up until October) to support the sector and parents as they move back to the subsidy. This announcement is a little bit complex so we are working hard to understand what this means for our families and for Goodstart. We will provide an update to our centres and our families later today and over the coming days as we learn more. #5weekstogo! See more
19.01.2022 Don’t forget book week this week!

15.01.2022 Children need lots of unstructured #play time to benefit their developing #brains, and they tend to have a natural awareness of what they need to naturally grow... up healthy and strong. Every child develops in a particular pattern. For example, they have to be able to sit up by themselves before they can crawl and eventually walk. And this is part of why a child naturally progresses to loving swinging sensations when they are in the midst of developing coordinated motor movements. Their sensory system is ready to organise and interpret moving information, and swinging is a fun way to do that. The #proprioceptive system, located within muscles and joints, provides a child with a sense of body awareness and also detects force and pressure while they swing. Meanwhile, their developing #vestibular system, located in the inner ear, detects movement and gravitational pull. The timely development of these senses can help a child learn to calm down if they are easily overwhelmed by sensory stimulation, or can help bring alertness to a child who needs sensory stimulation to facilitate attention and learning. The balance that feels so natural to an adult is a complex process where large groups of muscles work together to maintain postural control. It's very easy to forget how much we all loved swinging when we were little, or to minimise it as frivolous play without serious and necessary developmental benefits. If your child loves to swing, try to make some extra time for them to explore this super-activity. You will be helping their little brain grow in harmony with their body, and they will love you for it. #neurochild #childdevelopment #letthemplay

13.01.2022 Look at the differences between a typical preschool child’s hand (left) and a typical 7 year old hand (right). Want to know why a preschool aged child isn’t abl...e to write yet? This is why! Their hands are still developing and are not fully formed. So what should they be doing to support this? PLAY!! Playdough, colouring, cutting, gluing, playing outside, digging in dirt, sensory play, dress up play, science experiments, beading, puzzles, throwing balls, etc. All of these things help their hands develop. When they are physically ready to write, they will! No need to rush them, they will show you when they are ready! See more
13.01.2022 Take the pressure off the morning rush by sending your child in their pyjamas any or every this week. Pyjama day has turned into pyjama week because no one wanted to miss out on the fun!
12.01.2022 Today our centre had a Rainbow day to spread a little bit of love and positive in these scary and uncertain times . It was wonderful seeing the children and staff dressing up

09.01.2022 We think it’s safe to say that 2020 has been a year unlike any other. For the world, for Australia and for our Goodstart team. Over the past few months people, ...families and communities have been tried and tested in the most extraordinary ways. As frontline essential workers our ‘Goodstarters’ rose to this challenge, stepping up to support our 60,000 families and 71,000 children through some incredibly challenging times. So we’ve declared this week Thank You Week! A week to celebrate and recognise our 10,000+ Goodstarters for continuing to go above and beyond in face of adversity. We have a few special surprises planned for our Goodstarters this week, but in the meantime we'd love for our Goodstart families to get involved too! Please share your messages of thanks and support below and tag an educator or a centre who has really made a difference. #ThankYouWeek #InThisTogether
