25.01.2022 Just another fun and interactive cooking experience with Carolyn from little sprouts!

25.01.2022 Tomorrow the kinder children will participate in a responsible pet program delivered by the department of education. The pet educators visit the centre with their Suitability Tested Dog and demonstrates how to safely meet and greet a real dog. Each child is then given the opportunity to participate in the meet and greet with the Pet Educators dog. For many children this can be their first interaction with a dog and provides a positive and educational experience for each chil...d. Dog visits are a integral part of the program The interactive program focuses on teaching students: when dogs should be left alone things we should not do to dogs how can you tell if a dog is happy, scared or angry a safe way to approach and greet a dog what to do if approached by an unknown or aggressive dog. 22.01.2022 Friday mornings we end the week with our weekly yoga session with Bianca from bee humble yoga Bianca Marie Paterno. The children participate in a half an hour session where they relax, breath and learn new yoga poses.

21.01.2022 On Monday mornings the kinder children participate in Taekwondo with Maddy. Little Ninjas is carefully designed to concentrate on eight basic skills relevant to this age group: listening, focus, control, attitude, confidence, discipline, awareness and teamwork. Classes and drills are active and motivating, with coloured belts to reward development and divide students safely into skill groups. Little Ninjas develop curiosity, coordination and strong friendships. They also get to jump around like a kangaroo, roar like a lion and stomp like a bear!

20.01.2022 Dear Families, friends and community, Its with great sadness that I am writing this post to families past present and future. As Belen Demarco will be leaving us on her retirement journey. Belen De Marco has been working in primary schools from Ballarat to Melbourne since 1976. She then stopped teaching having her daughter. When her daughter started school Belen went back into the Early Childhood Industry working in derby st. In 2004 Belen came to Cumberland Early Learning ...which then became ABC and is now Goodstart. I have been privileged working with Belen for 15 years. Her hard work, dedication, inspiration will be missed! Not only has she been in the education field for over 40 years teaching children. She has been a great mentor, friend, colleague to my self and other educators. It is now time for Belen to enjoy retirement and spend quality time with her precious grandson! Her last day will be next Wednesday 31st of July. We will miss Belen and miss her presence at the Centre!

If your child is enrolled in one of our centres and you are still working, studying or searching for work you will be able to send your child for free from Monday 6 April. We know you probably have lots of questions, and your Centre Director will share more tomorrow once we understand the finer details of how it all works.

16.01.2022 Tomorrow the kinder children will be taking part in their monthly cooking program with Carolyn from little sprouts program! Children cook/bake using ingredients from our garden that we have created together! Looking forward in having some yummy afternoon tea with fresh ingredients.

09.01.2022 Hi Goodstart families! As you know the Government announced today that the 'free childcare' package will expire on 12 July and that the CCS system will return from 13 July, along with new transition measures (up until October) to support the sector and parents as they move back to the subsidy. This announcement is a little bit complex so we are working hard to understand what this means for our families and for Goodstart. We will provide an update to our centres and our families later today and over the coming days as we learn more. #5weekstogo!

03.01.2022 Tonight at Goodstart Early Learning Pascoe Vale Cumberland rd west kinder, educators and kinder children raised funds for the cancer council by having a movie night! What a spectacular evening with popcorn and hot chocolate being served! It was extra special wearing our pjs and watching Aladdin! Thank you to all our families for your continuous support!

02.01.2022 Every Tuesday the children participate in Mini Sports Mon-Stars with Coach Shane. The sport program is a multi sport specific program for boys and girls aged 1-6. The classes provide fun and energetic programs, which keeps both participants and educators entertained. Mini Monstars (Sports) incorporates fun decision-making games, enhances basic skill fundamentals and motor development capabilities. Mini Monstars (Sports) currently revolves around 4 sports. These Sports are: ...- Basketball - AFL Football - Cricket - Soccer (Football) There are 2 classes we provide for the children. All programs are 30minutes long per class. The children will learn the basic fundamental skills of these 4 sports as they also continue to enhance basic skill fundamentals, motor development capabilities and develop their cognitive pathways.

The families were encouraged to create a piece of artwork together with their child to show and share with their friends! What an amazing outcome! All families contributed with their childs learning!
