20.01.2022 Please read this important Information regarding the three day lockdown: Dear families, As Greater Brisbane prepares for the three-day lockdown I wanted to share our plans for Monday January 11 with you.... We will be open with all our usual strict hygiene practices in place As a national organisation Goodstart is very experienced in dealing with COVID-19 lockdowns and we’re here to help your family and minimise any disruptions to your child’s early learning. Through every outbreak and lockdown across the country, we have remained open for children to continue receiving their early education. We have not denied care to any child who needed it, even in some of the strictest lockdowns in the world. In Greater Brisbane there are currently no restrictions on who can attend, so your child is welcome to continue learning and playing with their friends, on Monday January 11. If you decide to keep your child at home If you decide to keep your child at home, it will be treated as a normal absence day just like if your child was sick or on holidays. Health and hygiene Throughout COVID we have had the strictest health and hygiene measures in place, and this will continue. Our national health and safety team have been closely monitoring the situation and on Monday you will need to: Wear a mask when you come to our centre (children don’t need to) Drop off and pick up your child at our foyer Limit to one parent and keep visit to under 15 minutes We will also: Limit the movement of staff between centres Reduce non-essential visitors Cancel all tours and orientations planned for Monday Anyone experiencing the mildest symptoms, such as headache, fatigue, cough, sore throat or runny nose, are asked to not attend the centre and go forward immediately for testing, then isolate until they receive a negative result. If you would like to know more about how to wear a facemask safely there is a great video available here: https://www.qld.gov.au//coronavirus-covid-19/pr/face-masks If you have any questions, please do not hesitate to contact me. Regards, Jodie Zysvelt

15.01.2022 Dear families, Like everyone in Greater Brisbane we are very pleased to hear that the lockdown will end later today. This note is to let you know that we’ll be continuing to wear masks at the centre just as we will all have to do when shopping or moving about in the community.... As part of our safety precautions we also ask that you continue to wear masks for drop off and pick up which will continue to occur in our foyer for the next ten days. Our health and safety experts tell us that there is a risk the UK COVID strain is still in the community and as a result our masks-on policy will remain in place until January 22. Please don’t hesitate to discuss this matter with me if you have any concerns. Thank you Jodie Zysvelt
