08.01.2022 Educator Ayda is further developing children's understanding of healthy eating and nutrition. Her Zoom session this month with her Toddler families was all about encouraging her children to fill up the rainbow chart and to participate in a cooking experience to make a healthy rainbow fruit salad. She has provided the ingredients and the recipe if you would like to make your own rainbow fruit salad at home just like the one she created this month with her children. ENJOY ... Ingredients: 1 cup of grapes 2 cups of chopped apples 3 Small bananas 4 Small mandarines 5 Strawberries 1 Lemon 1 Cup fresh fruit juice 1/2 cup coconut flakes and sultanas Recipe: Peel and cut the fruits as needed. Gently combine everything except the coconut flakes and sultanas. Finally, cut the lemon in half and squeeze the fresh juice all over the fruit salad. Add the fresh fruit juice. Sprinkle coconut flakes and sultanas on the top and your rainbow salad is ready.

02.01.2022 This is a fabulous article explaining how important learning through play is. Particularly for those families who may be worried about their child attending school next year. These anxieties are understandable, but your child’s preparedness for school may surprise you. School readiness IS NOT about ... Lining up in a straight line.... Counting to 100. Knowing the alphabet. Being able to sit on the mat for long periods of time. Ready children... have dispositions for learning such as problem-solving skills and persistence that help them stay focused on learning. If you scroll to the bottom of the article you’ll also find explanations on the five learning outcomes from the Early Years Learning Framework which educators use to monitor the progress of children’s learning and development. Please share and tag families with children starting school in 2021 so that they can also feel a sense of confidence and understanding about what they can do at home to help their little ones be ready for school.
