This is because healthy babies placed on their back to sleep are less likely to choke, suffocate or overheat. Our Chief Midwife Jane explains that placing baby on their back to sleep helps keep their airway clear and ensures their protective reflexes work. 21.01.2022 Sleeping bags or blankets for baby’s sleep time? It comes down to which you prefer. Done properly, both are great ways to help baby have a safer sleep. Tell us ...in the comments which one works best for you! A safe sleeping bag should be the correct size for the baby with a fitted neck, armholes (or sleeves) and no hood. The bag shouldn’t allow the baby to slip down inside and become completely covered. With blankets, your baby’s face and head need to stay uncovered during sleep to reduce the risk of sudden infant death. Don't pull blankets up any higher than baby's chest. 20.01.2022 STAFF PROFILE - BEC Hi, my name is Bec and I am one of the Educators here at Goodstart Semaphore Park. I was born and raised here in Adelaide, attended Largs Bay Primary and completed my high schooling education at LeFevre High School in 2007. Some hobbies I enjoy are reading books, spending time with my family, especially my niece, and I enjoy playing video games. Growing up I always knew I wanted to work with children and from an early age I jumped on this opportunity to be...gin my amazing career in early years education. I started working as a casual educator in the early learning sector the same year I graduated high school and have been working here at Semaphore Park for the past 13 years. During my time here it has been an amazing experience seeing all the children grow and then move onto their primary schooling while along the ways fostering each, individual child’s interests and developmental needs. During the times which I have worked here I have completed my Certificate 3 in Children’s Services and have just started studying my Diploma in Children’s Services, which I am looking forward to completing over the coming year. I look forward to working with you all during your early learning journey with us here at Goodstart Semaphore Park.

I have joined Goodstart July last year and moved here mid-November last year. I have enjoyed every moment of it. A little background about me: I am an Australian citizen. I was born in Egypt and I have been in Australia for seven years now. All through my career life, I have always been a teacher. I have w...orked with a huge range of ages and I have enjoyed every step of my journey. My favourite part of it is the early childhood age. I love listening to and playing music. I love travelling around Australia to see the wonderful places that we have around this beautiful country! I love trying new food from around the world. I love exploring and making new discoveries. I enjoy going for long walks and bike riding as well. Spending time and truly interacting with your children is my favourite thing to do.
