23.01.2022 Senior Toddlers having been engaging in a variety of different water play scenarios from this the children use their large muscles when lifting buckets, filling them up and emptying them Not only does this build their strength and endurance, it also stimulates an internal body sense called proprioception which is important for awareness of body position and movement and is essential for developing coordination skills. They develop their small hand muscles when they squeeze bo...ttles, liquid droppers, or wring out sponges and when they scoop, pour, stir and scrub. They also refine hand eye coordination and their fine motor skills. Water play is an open ended activity, which allows children to make discoveries and explore outcomes. Simple things like watching objects sink or float develops problem solving skills as they begin to learn why and how things happen. See more

This play provides them with an opportunity to explore new materials, act out scenarios from real life, build language, practice social skills, and gain an understanding of the world from which they live in. While engaged in small world play, children can explore and experiment with different emotions and act out these scenes in their play. 12.01.2022 We think its safe to say that 2020 has been a year unlike any other. For the world, for Australia and for our Goodstart team. Over the past few months people, ...families and communities have been tried and tested in the most extraordinary ways. As frontline essential workers our Goodstarters rose to this challenge, stepping up to support our 60,000 families and 71,000 children through some incredibly challenging times. So weve declared this week Thank You Week! A week to celebrate and recognise our 10,000+ Goodstarters for continuing to go above and beyond in face of adversity. We have a few special surprises planned for our Goodstarters this week, but in the meantime wed love for our Goodstart families to get involved too! Please share your messages of thanks and support below and tag an educator or a centre who has really made a difference. #ThankYouWeek #InThisTogether
