25.01.2022 After the children in the pre-kinder room expressed an interest in both sensory play and using hammer, educators extended on those interests by providing children with an ice discovery experience. The group was provided with small wooden hammers, water droppers, jugs of warm water and paint brushes to melt the ice and discover what is frozen inside.
25.01.2022 Hello everyone, I am Mike, the kindergarten teacher at Goodstart Tarneit. I've worked here for a one year and enjoyed it thoroughly, with a supportive team throughout the centre. Knowing all of the Pre-kinder children since last year, I look forward to supporting them as they embark on their learning journey in the Kinder room this year. 23.01.2022 In the nursery 2 room, to celebrate NAIDOC week, the children participated in an art experience focusing on cultural diversity learning ,as to how Indigenous people use lines,dots and colours to express ideas and meaning in their art.
22.01.2022 NAIDOC Week celebrates the history, culture, and achievements of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples. It is celebrated by everyone across Australia. In the Kinder room, the children read The Rainbow Serpent Dreamtime story in group time. They then painted their own Rainbow Serpent on their cardboard sheets!
22.01.2022 Today, the kinder children went to the harmony hub for a library reading session, designed to enhance their self regulation skills and literacy knowledge
20.01.2022 Educator Samantha engaged children in a discussion about food safety. They discussed how they can be food safe heroes, protect themselves and their friends. We also talked about how some children could get very sick from eating types of food, why some of their friends may have a different coloured plate to them at meal times and why it is important to tell an adult if one of our friends is feeling unwell or is looking different.
18.01.2022 This afternoon, the Kinder children spent some quality time in small group pegboard activity with our kinder teacher Mike . Not only did this activity promoted their fine motor skills, it also enhanced their social skills through sharing resources and creative ideas with each other.
