25.01.2022 We have been learning about Aboriginal culture with Taylor from Birrang Cultural Connections. The children have been joining in with singing and dancing as well as painting their own boomerangs. Today Taylor painted the children’s faces with ochre and explained that this was done at celebrations. He also played the didgeridoo for us.

23.01.2022 We celebrated NAIDOC week by having two Aboriginal artists visit our centre. Andy shared his knowledge of how a didgeridoo is made, he then played the didgeridoo and the guitar. We also had David Dunn visit the Preschool children. The children will be involved in a series of workshops over the next 8 weeks, learning about Aboriginal culture.

21.01.2022 Today we drew the winning ticket for our Easter raffle! Congratulations Hunter Worthington, you will be going home with our fabulous Easter Hamper. Thankyou to all who purchased tickets, we were able to raise $61 for Close the Gap. From everyone at Goodstart Thurgoona we would like to wish all of our families a happy and safe Easter break.

13.01.2022 As part of their Inquiry the Preschool children have been learning about how plants grow. Over the past few weeks the children have planted seeds and cuttings and have looked after them by watering them and placing them out in the sun. It was very exciting yesterday when the children got to pick some basil which we have been sharing with our families.
