21.01.2022 Art work is back and the Nursery children couldnt be happier! ~ children are confident and involved learners and develop dispositions for learning such as creativity.

21.01.2022 Nursery is learning all about the Ocean. The children have loved our books about fish and gather round when one is being read. Babies love to explore using all their senses and we have used our special Beach themed sensory bags to touch and feel while we talk about Ocean and Beach concepts learnt in our books!

16.01.2022 In the toddler room, the children have taken on Teeth brushing as a interest. We have been currently exploring cleaning our teeth and ways we need to care for them with discussion of foods that are healthy and foods that can hurt our teeth.

As you know the Government announced today that the free childcare package will expire on 12 July and that the CCS system will return f...rom 13 July, along with new transition measures (up until October) to support the sector and parents as they move back to the subsidy. This announcement is a little bit complex so we are working hard to understand what this means for our families and for Goodstart. The children will spend the next few weeks learning about different types of characters that appear in books.Today they had the Rainbow Fish and the Magic Hat Wizard read them some of their favourites! Dont forget to come dressed up this week and bring your book so they can read it for you too!

10.01.2022 The last 2 weeks we have had the Henny Penny Hatching Program at Spring Street. All the children have had the opportunity to see chickens hatch from eggs and learn how to care for the newborn chicks and watch them grow. The Nursery children have particularly enjoyed seeing the chicks and feeling their soft feathers as we learn about being gentle and caring for animals and other people.

09.01.2022 Worms, worms and more worms. In the kindergarten room we like to explore nature, our focus has been on these wonderful creatures called worms. Jacks dad brought in some worms for the children to create their very own worm farm. The children are learning how to interact respectfully in the natural environment and how we can improve our sustainability practices. #kindynaturewarriors.

08.01.2022 Each month in the Toddler Room, we take a different book and explore it with different types of experiences, to see where it takes us on each learning journey. This month we are exploring The Butterfly by Anna Milbourne and Cathy Shimmen. So far we have been learning about life cycles, new painting techniques with butterfly paintings, searching for butterflies in our butterfly hunt and recreated parts of the book for the children to use in their play.

07.01.2022 Aaaarrrrrrh! Pirates invaded our centre today!! Everyone had a blast dressing up and speaking like a pirate while raising money for childhood cancer.

07.01.2022 Today Spring Street supported Jeans4Genes day with everyone wearing their Jeans and raising much needed funds for Childrens genetic diseases. In Nursery we tried to get a photo of us all in our Jeans but who knew it would be so hard?

06.01.2022 We are passionate in Pre Kindy about making sure that music is embedded in our daily practices as music ignites all areas of child development including intellectual, social-emotional, motor, language, and overall literacy. It helps the body and the mind work together and dancing to music helps children build motor skills while allowing them to practice self-expression and confidence.

03.01.2022 Did you know 3,000 little lives are lost in Australia each year from stillbirth, SIDS and other fatal infant sleeping accidents? Today the Staff and Children of Spring Street dressed in red to support and raise much needed funds Red Nose Day and SIDS Australia. We even got to have fun wearing a virtual red nose from the Red Nose Australia facebook page! #RedNoseDay2020

02.01.2022 Book Week Day 5!

02.01.2022 Currently in the Toddler Room, the children have a big interest in constructing towers. We introduced some new toys for the children to explore, Safety Vest and Glasses, Screwdrivers and a Wrenches. The children helped to build the tool bench and then they got started on fixing the wooden blocks. We may have some little engineers on our hands, in the near future!
