25.01.2022 Whitney and Britney Chicken Divas" by Lucinda Guilford - The story selected for National Simultaneous Storytime was read by Charles Wood, one of our educators at Lake Albert Road. This marks the 20th year to promote the value of reading and literacy across schools, preschools, libraries promoting an Australian author and illustrator. At 11am this morning all the children gathered together in their age groups outside to share a fabulous story!

20.01.2022 Yesterday we had the pleasure of the Minister of Education, Sarah Mitchell come to visit our centre. We were previously successful in securing funding to purchase some outdoor equipment and we will be applying for the next round of funding to extend on this. Sarah was very impressed with our centre & spacious garden that the children engage in on a daily basis.

20.01.2022 On Wednesday we celebrated Diwali which is the "Indian Festival of Lights". Diwali is one of the most popular festivals of Hinduism, it symbolizes the spiritual "victory of light over darkness, good over evil and knowledge over ignorance". Everyone within the centre enjoyed some traditional Indian snacks & our cook Tracie made butter chicken for lunch.

19.01.2022 The centre's vegetable patch has produced the sweetest, most delicious sugar snap peas this year! Two of our Preschool children were busy picking some baskets of peas for morning tea. We also have carrots growing which the children are starting to pull from the garden. We are so lucky to have this resource for our children to learn where some of our food comes from as well as incorporating this food into our meal times.

07.01.2022 Today we had Maddish Est 2020 visit our centre for staff and families to puchase hot drinks & delicious slice. The pre-school 2 room purchased a babychino & baked some banana bread to enjoy a special high tea in their room. A big thank you to Shannon for continuing your involvment in our centre as a previous Lake Road Family.

05.01.2022 Today the Preschool 2 children had the wonderful opportunity to connect with Kelcee over in Canada using our ProWise Smartboard. Kelcee and the Preschoolers have been sending letters to each other, which has allowed us to keep in touch and learn all about the Canadian way of life. There were many questions asked about the animals Kelcee has seen and were interested to hear about how our seasons are different on opposite sides of the world.... During our video call we sang happy birthday to Kelcee, we hope you have a fantastic day tomorrow.
