13.01.2022 The EARLY YEARS of your child's life MATTERS Children who grow up in safe, stable and nurturing environments full of positive interaction with caring adults, ...have healthier brain development. This leads to higher levels of health & success later in life. When children are deprived of this caring environment (in chronic situations) they don't have the same neurological, social or emotional development at specific milestones. This is one of the reasons it's important that we cultivate our own emotional health... If we are chronically struggling with personal chaos, mental health or addiction issues without adequate support, we are often unable to create the nurturing environment our child needs. This is where community matters - if someone in your world raising children is struggling, your support of them also helps their child *Note - these learnings are related to chronic conditions (such as addiction, mental health or abuse). A healthy environment is a good enough environment, not a perfect one. *Note - a lack of development can be regained later in life, but often takes more intentionality & a longer time. This is because although our brain remains changeable across our lifetime, there is a specific window in these first five years that is foundational & accelerates this development. #ResilientLittleHearts

10.01.2022 WHY THE FIRST 5 YEARS ARE SO IMPORTANT The first 5 years of a child’s life has a direct impact on their: growth & development ability to learn... emotional regulation social ability long term happiness & health . This is because 90% of a child’s brain development occurs in the first 5 years This development occurs naturally & rapidly in a loving, safe & predictable environment. Early relationships are the foundation of a child’s healthy development #ResilientLittleHearts

09.01.2022 Resilience is the ability to manage negative thoughts & emotions, and to overcome stress and challenge. It is one of the most important skills we can teach our... children.
