16.01.2022 Announced today - the Gap Free Childcare Package will be ended as of 12 July. It is now more important than ever to update your details with Centrelink including your family income estimate and ensure your CCS (childcare subsidy) is up to date. This will affect your fees and availability if its not completed by the end of June. This is just a reminder so families are not caught out by the change of circumstances. Come and see us in the office if you have any questions.

13.01.2022 Meet Jodie our amazing Administration Assistant! I have worked for Goodstart for 4 years, 2.5 years at Walkerston. I am the Lead Admin for the Area, my area covers from Rockhampton to Emerald to Proserpine and all the centres in between. I have started last month as the Lead Admin for 38 Brisbane centres and work from the Walkerston office. I have over 25 years in Admin experience in many different fields from Signage to Heavy Equipment to Mining to Disability and Child... Safety and all I ever wanted to do was work the perfume counter at Myer! I grew up in Townsville, lived in Moranbah for 12 years before moving to Marian in 2012. My husband and I have been together for 27 years and we have a 20 year old son and 17 year old daughter.

09.01.2022 Here at Goodstart Walkerston we follow a strict sun safety policy. Every child must wear a hat, sunscreen, shoes and sleeved shirt, as well as have a water bottle to stay hydrated. Please use the sunscreen station as you arrive to ensure your child has sunscreen on, ready for play. There is a fridge in our Senior yard outdoor area for water bottles if you would like to keep your child's water cool.

05.01.2022 Goodstart Walkerston celebrated India’s festival of colours ‘Holi’ today. It was a sea of colour covering our educators and our beautiful children. Needless to say everyone enjoyed the morning and we topped it off with a beautiful treat brought in from one of our families.
