22.01.2022 Good afternoon families, We hope you are all well and keeping safe! As everyone knows by now Melbourne and Mitchel Shire have been put under strict stage three restrictions. You may not know but a few of our educators are commuting from these lock down areas to Warragul. We wanted to re assure you that these educators are doing their absolute best to keep themselves and others safe. Some of the things they are doing to do this is Wearing a mask within the designated area in...cluding to and from the Centre each day, wearing a mask if they leave the centre and visit any space within the Baw Baw shire and regularly washing and sanitizing their hands. You may have also noticed a few educators have been absent this week. We can assure you that they are all ok, but due to requirements and duty of care to the children, other staff and themselves, they have stayed away from the service whilst they undergo testing. If you have any queries or concerns regarding this please feel free to have a chat with one of our friendly management staff. Have a fantastic weekend!

20.01.2022 Shaving foam truck print painting. Our Pre-Kinder children have been exploring different styles of painting using a variety of materials. Today to combine the children’s interest in cars, trucks and art expression, we created the shaving foam truck painting experience. The children enjoyed driving the trucks through the painted foam, exploring the different patterns each of the tires made. They especially loved being able to keep a copy of their track through the printing ...process. This experience provides many moments of learning for children including exploring patterns, senses and colour mixing as they drive the cars through various colours of paint. Through this experience, children are learning skills such as turn taking and sharing as they each waited patiently for their turn. As the children move the cars around the paint and engage in the print process, they are further developing their fine motor skills. We can't wait to continue to show you more of what's on off her at Goodstart Sutton Street!

Adding this to the children’s daily routine, provides children a sense of importance and belonging. Through providing simple and meaningful moments like this, enhances children's confidence, self-esteem and self-help skills.

Many of our children loved being the check out person, scanning each of the bar codes and asking "cash or card". Children are learning many skills through the supermarket set up. 09.01.2022 What's in the box? The 3-5 Kinder children were given a large box of things. The children were not told what was in it and neither were the teachers. Together the children took turns to guess What’s inside the box. The children were all engaged and enjoyed having a go at guessing what was in the box. Some of the guesses were:... A cat A dog A homemade cake A Tap because the one outside is broken A pillow This experience provides children the opportunity to practice their hypothesizing skills. The children were able to make their predictions using their logical thinking of how large the box was and what could realistically fit inside it. The children were able to take turns at making their prediction, and practicing raising their hand to make their guess! After the children had their guesses we showed the children the contents which included Pebbles, feathers, pine cones, buttons, hessian and hay. These resources will be used later on in some fun and new experiences! See more
