12.01.2022 A year on and it's clear that the first Tiny Homes Foundation project is a success. Not only has it been a place to call home for over 6 residents, its a shining example of how compassion being put into action can literally change lives. With the help of Pacific Link Housing and Coast Shelter, the Tiny Homes Foundation has had a positive impact on youth homelessness by acting as a springboard for residents to find jobs, excel in schooling and enter into their own private rentals. The Tiny Homes community in Gosford has successfully pioneered a way forward for sustainable housing and is etching itself into the movement towards solving the homelessness crisis.

09.01.2022 This is Kelly's story. Her husband and father both suffered cardiac arrests within 3 years of each other - sadly, only one of them survived, and this was only due to effective bystander CPR and a readily available automatic external defibrillator (AED). Kelly now works closely with the Michael Hughes Foundation, an Australian charity that aims to turn bystanders into first responders in cases of sudden cardiac arrest (SCA) by raising community awareness about SCA, and advoca...ting the education of CPR training and availabilities of AEDs. Michael Hughes Foundation Restart A Heart Day is happening this Wednesday - it's an International Day to place a focus on cardiac arrest, CPR, defibrillators and encouraging everyone to give it a go. To highlight the importance of World Restart a Heart Day, the Michael Hughes Foundation is also launching its video series to share real life accounts of individuals who were unexpectedly forced to respond to the unthinkable - watch these real and honest experiences over on their Facebook page. #mhflife #response #cpr #aeds #communitythatworks

Unfortunately the number of children coming into care on the Central Coast is growing - it's estimated we have double the state average of children in foster care. But there is a serious shortage of carers in our region, and these children desperately need Foster Carers - preferably here on the Coast so that they can remain in familiar surroundings. Foster care can range from a few weeks or months as a short term carer, or provide a safe ho...me for life placement until the child is 18 years of age.
