25.01.2022 Expression of Interest!! Specialist Domestic and Family Violence Worker. (Identified Position). This is a temporary position (10 months), based in St George, though covers the Southwest Region. The Specialist Domestic and Family Worker will be part of the Family Wellbeing Service and will: Provide advice and assistance to FWS staff working with clients and family members impacted by DFV.... Assess and undertake risk assessments of referrals received Provide FWS workers with advice and assistance in safety planning, including, safe engagement strategies Assess, monitor, and minimise risk to family members and workers. Participate in client home visits where appropriate Work jointly with other FWS to ensure support needs of the family and/or family members are met. Assist in assessment of client needs and decisions regarding case management and referral pathways Develop and maintain appropriate referral pathways to specialist domestic and family violence, sexual violence and women’s support services Participate in relevant local networks that are specific to supporting services addressing domestic and family violence in the area. 19.01.2022 EXPRESSION OF INTEREST PSYCHOLOGIST Goolburri Aboriginal Health Advancement Company Ltd (Goolburri) is an Aboriginal Community Controlled Health Service (ACCHS) providing direct comprehensive primary healthcare and social services to communities in the Darling Downs and Southwest region of Queensland. The Goolburri Healing and Wellbeing Service aims to promote the well-being of all adults, young people and children from all cultural and social backgrounds by providing cult...urally appropriate and confidential counselling to empower people to better manage their mental health. Due to increasing demand, the Healing and Wellbeing Service is seeking a passionate and engaging Psychologist to join the team as a psychologist and practice leader. This is a full time position, based in Toowoomba and covering the Darling Downs and Southwest Region. The position would involve direct client work and giving practice guidance to our Indigenous healing & wellbeing team in their social and emotional wellbeing work. Applicants need to have: Full registration as a Psychologist with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA) Registered with Medicare to provide services under Mental Health Care Plans Ability to nurture relationships with community members, other services and referrers Excellent verbal and written communication skills A willingness to travel Professional indemnity and public liability insurance Exemplary time management skills Ability to work both within a team and individually A sound understanding of the NDIS would be an advantage Salary upon negotiations, with option of salary sacrifice available. Was great to see Harry. There is a combined total of 50 years experience with Carmen, Harry and Lizzie at Goolburri.

12.01.2022 3 x Family Participation Program Facilitators Identified position - Toowoomba Based The Goolburri Family & Child Wellbeing Program is seeking passionate and engaging people to join the Family Participation Program team. The positions are initially for 12 months and subject to funding. The purpose of the Family Participation Program (FPP) is to support children and families to be safe and together.... FPP Facilitators work with families to facilitate and deliver a range of supports and services that ensures families are being heard and given the opportunity to work towards a solution to the worries or concerns raised by Child Safety. You will have a positive attitude, be organised and motivated, be able to work independently and collaboratively, take initiative, be reliable, have an ability to engage with community members and stakeholders, and be passionate about promoting culturally appropriate services. You will also: Understand and apply community development principles to the work you do with families, community and stakeholders Be confident to educate and inform families, community and services to ensure understanding of the Family Participation Program model and interconnecting Goolburri services Facilitate inclusive decision making processes that enable families to draw on their strengths, knowledge and resources to have a voice and feel empowered to make informed decisions on how to keep families safe and together Work closely and effectively with the Department of Child Safety, Youth and Women and other statutory services to seek and provide cultural and holistic family well-being advice and input, including case planning and review activities that works towards keeping families and safe and together Contribute to the program development and transitioning phases through data collation and analysis and action learning processes Travelling within the Darling Downs South West region and some out of office hours will be required with the positions. 10.01.2022 Congratulations to Practice Manager; Carmen Hill on 15 years of service to Goolburri. Well done Carmen this is a great achievement. Carmen started as a trainee Dental Assistant on the 25th of July 2005 and with hard work, determination and commitment, is now the Practice Manager of our Medical and Dental Clinic.

Lizzie has grown Goolburri over the past 15 years from a 4 person fledgling service embracing self-determination to a large, effective Aboriginal Community Controlled Organisation with over 80 employees delivering measurable outcomes for the people and communities they serve. Lizzie continues to innovate and plan strategic service sector improvements which in recent years has seen her advancing the development of place based integrated approaches to health and social care service delivery. Lizzie is also the Executive Director of the Jaydon Adams Memorial Foundation, set up in memory of her son. The Foundation seeks to address the social determinants that impact Aboriginal youths and families through participation and encouragement of individual and family decision making. Lizzie has contributed significantly to Aboriginal Affairs since the young age of 17 and later via a number of leadership roles at local, regional, state and national levels. These positions include: Chairperson of the Queensland Aboriginal and Islander Health Council (QAIHC) six years Chairperson of Queensland Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Child Protection Peak (QATSICPP) six years Director of the National Aboriginal Community Controlled Health Organisation (NACCHO). Director of the Board of the Ipswich Jets Rugby League Club Lizzie has also been a participant of the Australian Caucus of Indigenous NGO’s at the annual United Nations Permanent Forum on Indigenous Issues held at the UN Headquarters in New York. Along the way, Lizzie has raised a beautiful family and embraces her grandchildren.
