24.01.2022 Gundy trained Essaka has qualified for the 1100m Country Stampede, to be raced in Doomben Sat Dec 5. Giving regional Queensland's best sprinters to compete in Doomben. Country jockey Stephanie Lacey has the ride....Barry had numerous City jockey's wanting the ride but Steph rode Essaka in the Qualifying race and having 3 wins and 3 seconds out of 8 rides its only fair she gets the ride. Good luck Barry , Ash and Steph for next Sat. Lets bring the Trophy to Gundy

03.01.2022 Ash and Barry travelled to Emerald over the weekend for the Queensland Country Racing Gala Awards Ash , Barry and Essaka where nominated in 3 categories... Ash for Newcomer of the year for Qld Racing, Barry for Hall Of Fame Country Trainer and Essaka for Country Sprinting Horse of the year. No trophies this year but such a privilege to be acknowledged for all their hard work.
