12.01.2022 A very BIG congratulations to the team Miss Andreatta took to the Bill Turner Cup in Stanthorpe yesterday! A message from Miss Andreatta: "They have made me proud as a coach and have represented the school highly with what they achieved today considering GSHS has not had a team in this comp for 20 years. We won 2 of our 3 games against Stanthorpe SHS (1-0), Stanthorpe St Joeys (1-2) and Inglewood SHS (5-0) which left us at a tie with 2 of the other teams on 6 points each. Unf...ortunately, it came down to the goal difference to determine the winner of the pool to play Warwick and we came 2nd to Stanthorpe SHS by only 1 goal. This was a huge result for us, the boys were obviously devastated but they kept their heads high and were proud of their efforts to get this outcome". See more

05.01.2022 Year 12 Graduation Plans - Changes! Due to reduced COVID restrictions announced today by our Premier we have decided to make some significant changes to the Graduation Ceremonies. We will email all parents next week with more information. Key Changes Summarised: - The Graduation Ceremony and Night will now be held inside the Cultural Centre.... - The two invited parents/guardians can now attend the graduation dinner with their children. - Due to very tight timelines parents/guardians need to pay an additional $25 per person by the COB Tuesday. - Family and friends wishing to attend prior to the Graduation Formal in the Cultural Centre gardens outside may do so. However must enter through the front doors to register their details for contact tracing. How happy are we to have some good news for this cohort. Have a great weekend! Brett Hallett - Principal

03.01.2022 The Visual Arts Authentic Experience is an exciting and immersive annual event designed to prepare Senior Visual Arts students for the conceptual demands of their course. This year’s theme, The Flipside, provided students with numerous opportunities to respond in creative and thoughtful ways to a range of engaging stimulus materials. From Childish Gambaro’s, This is America to Cobby Eckermann’s poem, Circles and Squares, students created visual oxymorons, 3D interpretations and symbolic representations of their thinking. Thank you to Mrs Lesley Hawker, Senior Visual Art teacher, for planning and facilitating such a wonderfully rich experience for our Art students.
