12.01.2022 BlaQ is excited to announce that we were successful in our application to deliver Aboriginal Queer Culture Capability training with ACON. We are excited to be... supporting ACON in building their capacity to understand the lived experiences of Aboriginal Queer community and how the impact of sexual racism, transphobia, homophobia and discrimination contribute to the trauma our community face. Using principles such social emotional well-being and cultural intelligence within an Aboriginal queer context to build awareness, growth and organisational synergy throughout ACON. Being the first of its kind, our training aims to create conscious people that have a greater understanding of the intersectionality of Aboriginal Queer community. The training will expand ACON’s understanding through a step by step process that shifts their unconscious biases into action! We are looking forward to working with ACON and creating opportunities for our community.
08.01.2022 ACON’s Aboriginal Project is seeking expressions of interest (EOI) from individuals or organisations of LGBTQ Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander communities,... who are interested in a role that will co-coordinate the production of the First Nations Mardi Gras Float 2021. This is an exciting opportunity, as the First Nations float is the lead entry in the annual Sydney Mardi Gras parade. This project will collaborate with ACON’s Aboriginal Program Coordinator and members of the Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander community to lead the creative design, planning, coordination and delivery of the Annual First Nations Mardi Gras Float. This large-scale event is key to the promotion of health and wellbeing of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people who are part of the LGBTQ communities, and/or living with HIV. Expressions of interests close at 5:00pm 28 September 2020. To be considered for this opportunity, interested individuals or organisations can apply by following the link: https://bit.ly/32q20cc
