18.01.2022 Some people have heard of Cloud Computing, but are not exactly sure what it is. In fact, many people use Cloud services everyday without realising. Put simply, cloud computing is when you store, manage and process your data on a server, instead of on your local device.... This allows you the flexibility to access your data from multiple devices, in different locations and on the go, without needing numerous copies of the same information. Email is a Cloud service (Ill describe the difference between Public and Private Cloud services another day), and even Facebook is often described as a Cloud service. Businesses that decide to save on their IT budget are moving across to a Cloud service. Rather then pushing all their systems onto the Cloud in one go, they often manage the change-over by migrating one service at a time. Some of the Cloud services GoPC.net offers include: Enterprise Grade Email, Data Storage, Remote Desktops, Off-site Backups and more.

17.01.2022 Watch out this CryptoLocker virus! On Thursday, a company we know opened an email from the Australian Federal Police, despite being warned about it. It was of course a virus and they've been infected. It encrypts the users desktop but also every file system they have access to on the server. If you are on a Microsoft PC or Terminal Server desktop then this can happen to you. ... If you see any email with an attachment, even from somebody you recognise, please don't open it unless you're within a GoPC Linux desktop where it can't run. Yes we have the capability with GoPC to look directly at the sun without being affected. So please be warned and be careful.
