24.01.2022 We hope everyone had a restful and safe Easter break. From this term until the end of the Covid-19 pandemic, an educator will sign in/out your child from OSHC during the morning and afternoon sessions. This eliminates multiple people using the Ipad each day. Please note we still require an authorised adult to be on site for handover. If you require any details, please see either Paula or Jedd.

23.01.2022 Here is the program for the Pupil Free Days in Week 11. Please ensure your child brings age appropriate games for the electronics day. Bookings can be made in person, by phone or by email. Children need to bring recess, lunch, a drink bottle and their red OSHC hat

22.01.2022 Hi everyone. Please take some time to fill out our survey regarding the possibility of having vacation care at Glen Osmond. It only takes a few minutes to complete. Please share the link with others in our school community. This will also be made available with the school newsletter https://www.surveymonkey.com/r/P9TGNSV

21.01.2022 Yesterday 11/02/20 we all tried paper plate weaving. Children of all ages joined in and it was such a great experience. There was so much conversation about turning their weaving into wall hangings and coasters. The conversation also turned into @what we want to do when we grow up It was great to hear all the exciting career aspirations. We had a five year old who wants to be an inventor and a seven year old who said she wants to be a scientist. She wants to be a palaeontologist. Its great to chat with the children about their dreams and ambitions

19.01.2022 An example of how activities grow. We had popstick houses as an activity today. The children were not interested in creating houses and instead used their imagination and made a whole rabbit family from different materials. They worked together and even made a bed for the rabbits to sleep in. How awesome are they?

12.01.2022 19/03/20 Dear Families. OSHC has been working closely with the school and implementing extra hygiene practices due to the COVID-19 virus on top of following our Infectious Disease Policy. We are encouraging social distancing as far as practicable in an OSHC setting. Therefore, discouraging tag games and activities that require close contact.... We are ensuring surfaces and items used by children are disinfected and sanitised between sessions. The iPad is included in the sanitation process. We are encouraging good hygiene practices for children through hand washing and using hand sanitiser and modelling this practice. We are working with the Education Standards Board to ensure we are minimising the spread of the virus. In the event of a confirmed case, OSHC will follow the advice of the Department for Education and public Health officials. Various meetings and professional development in the sector has also been cancelled as a precaution. Childrens health and wellbeing is our top priority. We will continue to talk with children about keeping safe and giving reminders of good hygiene and playing safely together. Please talk with Jedd or myself if you have any questions. Warm Regards, Paula Williams OSHC Director

12.01.2022 Please be aware that we do have a cancellation policy of 1 week. For families who are not using care during the Coronavirus pandemic, you can still claim CCS for those absences. However Centrelink will take back the CCS if the last day is an absence and you cease care for longer than 14 weeks. After 14 weeks, Centrelink will cease the enrolment. This means when care resumes, you will need to confirm the attendance in your mygov account

09.01.2022 All families. Please be aware of a graphic video being posted on the popular app Tic Tok. Parents are being advised through media outlets to keep their children off TicTok until it has been taken down. It has been tacked on to the end of innocent cat and dog videos. This is a very traumatising video that can be quite distressing to watch. Please extend this message to those you know who are on Tik Tok and those who have children that use it.... 09.01.2022 We want to say a massive heartfelt thank you to the Bowen family for throwing OSHC an appreciation party on Tuesday. Your generosity is amazing. We feel very humbled by your lovely gesture. The children had a ball and went home saying "it was the party of the century"

08.01.2022 A huge thank you to one of our wonderful families who brought in a chrysalis during the pupil free week. The children had the opportunity to watch the butterfly emerge and fly off. We all had a great conversation about the life cycle of a butterfly and we were amazed at the knowledge the children shared with each other. (QA5.1, 6.1 MTOP 1, 2)

05.01.2022 OSHC families, As you may be aware the government released a statement Thursday 02/04/20 declaring that all child care including OSHC will now be offered free of charge, as part of an Early Childhood Education and Care Relief Package. This package will temporarily replace the already existing Child Care Subsidy and is set to commence Monday 6th April, until at this stage, the end of the financial year. As part of the new relief package, the service will now directly receive 5...0% of the service revenue OR 50% of the existing hourly rate cap, whichever is lower, based on the fortnight prior to the 2nd March 2020. The parent portion of the fee normally required, will as of Monday 6th April be waived resulting in no charge for care. All fees owed prior to Monday 6th April, including the week of Monday 30th March to Sunday 5th April however will still require payment. These fee are required to be paid in line with our fee policy, of 14 days. All fees must be settled prior to the commencement of Term 2. Relief care will now be available as according to the following priorities: 1. Children of parent(s) who are considered essential workers 2. Vulnerable and disadvantaged children 3. Any previously enrolled child. 4. New enrolments will be processed however we cannot guarantee there will be places available. Please note: No additional paperwork is required by the family to confirm bookings (other than the 2020 enrolment) however in order to maintain school social distancing rules and meet appropriate staff to child ratios, spaces may be limited. We recommend families book in as soon as possible. Educators will sign in/out on the behalf of the families. We still require a consenting adult to be on site for handover procedures. Accounts are still required to be sent out by the service during this time. If your tax invoice shows a balance of fees accrued after Monday 6th April, please contact the service. Due to the shortages and supermarket purchasing restrictions, the service is having difficulties providing the varied menu offered in the past. Until further notice our menu will consist of fruit and vegetable platters, crackers, cheese and a bread roll. We will try to provide a cooked snack where possible. Families are welcome to provide an extra healthy snack to tide them over until they go home. Thank you. OSHC Management.

OSHC will be running a program from 7:00am 6:00pm on each of those four days. We do require children to be booked in for these sessions. Children also need a current OSHC enrolment form completed for bookings to be accepted. Any cancellations made after the 31st March will be charged to your account. ... Please ensure your children bring recess, lunch, their drink bottles and their red OSHC hat on each day that they attend. We are unable to heat up any food in OSHC. Please also be aware that due to food limits imposed by supermarkets, we have had to take the unfortunate steps of modifying our snack menus. Children are welcome to bring extra food to OSHC if they wish. Please remember we are a nut and egg aware service. Bikes and scooters will not be part of the program. We ask that these be left at home. Please book by either calling or emailing the service, or write your childs name on the list provided near the Ipad. Regards The Glen Osmond OSHC Team See more
