19.01.2022 So a bit of rain made an appearance today. We could of canned our river walk and stayed home on the couch, but nup, not us. Hit the pool and cranked out some laps with these legends. Good job athletes, either way we were going to get wet hey?... Was so cool having champion Chinese swimmer Tay Tay join us and instagram celebrity Lisa let loose.

18.01.2022 Gym Build Update. Brand New Facility about 3 weeks from opening 1st Council inspection done today. We got a big and will be working out really soon. Bathrooms and offices being gyprocked this weekend, some more painting next week, before our top notch flooring goes down and then all of our equipment comes in on the 11th May.... "Build it and they will come" they say. Well we did it the other way, they came and we built it The first 2 of 40 Foundation memberships were sold yesterday to our new Minchinbury facility, only 38 remaining. 18.01.2022 2021. Who is going to fly and who is going to cacoon? Who is planning to turn over a new leaf next year? Who is setting some goals that they plan to commit to ...beyond February? Who is intending on shedding their old skin and starting fresh? A man made calendar doesn't magically make everything better 2020 has put challenges in front of us that for me exposed who had been putting in substantial work on themselves and was able to step up. 2020 also showed me who were whinges, moaners and blamers. If you want things to be better, YOU need to be better. Your success in life is directly connected to the amount of personal development work you do. As a form of accountability I am going to publicly post in the comments some of the goals I have set for myself in 2021. Making them public helps keep me accountable. If you want to take your goals seriously, share them in the comments and I will promise to keep you working towards them and where I can help you achieve them I will.

16.01.2022 Being healthy and fit is not just about how you look, it's about how you feel and how your mind and body functions each day. Exercise releases endorphins that make you feel good, you think more clearly, have more energy and feel amazing. You hear people say how hard it is to get started but the hardest part is the start. It does get easier as cravings that are caused by high sugary food go away because you're not eating them. You actually start enjoying food more and healthy... food becomes tastier as your taste buds change. You become addicted to being healthy and active. Your mind becomes clearer and happier, you feel less bloated, you feel lighter and have more energy. One of our long time members of GOPT did exactly that, she changed her mindset and took control of what she could control. She realised to get results she had to step outside her comfort zone and commit to some lifestyle changes. She realised she could not out train a bad diet and as you can see Lisa has made an amazing transformation. She is looking, feeling, thinking and moving better and couldn't be happier. If you want to feel your best and be happy and confident in yourself, then you need to make some positive changes. Commit yourself, be patient and the results will follow.

11.01.2022 Often times it's easy to get "so close" only to give up. We think it's too hard, it's taking too long, it's not working or we aren't worth it so why even bother and we end up quitting just shy of the goal. When we come against these brick walls, and we all do, all the time, the answer isn't to turn and run, giving up everything we've worked so hard for. The answer is to step forward and keep moving. You need to know that making a commitment to yourself is one of the greatest commitments you will ever make. Those little brick walls aren't there to stop you, they are there to challenge you and allow you to prove to yourself that you matter.

Here our members are practicing some breathe work and regulation of their heart rates leading into a recovery, stretch and meditation session. Our program recognizes that we need to do work from the neck up so we can look good from the neck down.

06.01.2022 Watch this space. DA approved Construction Certificate given... Time to Rock n Roll on the build and fit out. Owner will clear this space this week finally, and gives it a fresh coat of paint. Nothing has gone to the schedule in my mind and that's ok. We have just got better at focusing on what we can control, and had more time fine tuning all our other processes and systems. Our athletes are still kicking major goals and getting even fitter before their new gym opens. I don't want to put a time line on opening dates yet as too much of the work is out of my control but I will keep posting progress updates and as we get closer to completion foundation membership offers will be made available to those on the list. 04.01.2022 7 Day Sleep Challenge to kick of Sleep Awareness Week. Sleep is a vital component to a healthy lifestyle. Whilst we know the importance of a good diet and regular exercise, the importance of sleep has received less attention. Sleep is vital for both our physical and mental restoration leading to overall wellness. While we sleep many important functions take place that help the body in physical recovery and repair, support brain development, cardiac function and body metabol...ism, as well as support learning, improving memory and mood. While you are sleeping, hormones flood your body to grow and repair itself. Without enough sleep, your hormones are out of whack and your body craves sugar, fat and high-GI foods leading to weight gain. Consistent good sleep may be a protective factor against heart disease, kidney disease, high blood pressure, diabetes, and stroke. Your immune system releases a type of small proteins called cytokines. If you’re sick or injured, these cytokines help your body fight inflammation, infection and trauma. Without enough sleep, your immune system might not be able to function at its best. Not only does sleep affect mood, but mood and mental states can also affect sleep. Anxiety increases restlessness which makes it hard to sleep. Stress also affects sleep by keeping the body aroused and alert. Poor sleepers are much more likely to develop significant mental illnesses, including depression and anxiety. It also leads to decreased decision-making ability, poorer reaction times and greater irritability. Good quality sleep assists with the recovery from stressful experiences and is related to greater mental resilience. For Sleep Awareness Week, challenge yourself to start and create better long term sleeping habits to improve sleep. What are good sleeping habits? Keep a regular bed time and waking time Exposure to direct sunlight before 9am Regular exercise during the day Eating well and evening meal no later than 2 hours before bed Avoid nicotine, alcohol and no caffeine after 12pm A comfortable bedroom that is cool, quiet and dark Turn off all screens 30mins as a min. before bed Cover any clocks in the bedroom to avoid clock watching Use your bedroom for sleep and intimacy only

We become better parents, better partners and better friends. Meet Allison Bergamin Allison has been a member of GOPT since February this year.
