13.01.2022 La donna e mobile is a famous aria from Verdi’s opera Rigoletto. This drawing was created to accompany an upcoming showcase, by the Underground Opera Company, scheduled for May 2020. Whilst this has now been postponed, but we can still bring the magic to you! This drawing was created in 24ct Gold, Silver and Platinum, using a technique called Silverpoint. Over 1000 images make up this video. As Gold, Silver and Platinum cannot be erased, the eyes were drawn in pencil, erased and redrawn 24 times, before the final version was completed in Gold. It’s been an incredible process and I hope you all enjoy!
