25.01.2022 Last time, Labor MPs called Victoria's hotel quarantine system "gold standard". And again it failed Victorians, plunging us back into lockdown. Last week, the Andrews Government announced a return to hotel quarantine.... There is a lot at stake for Victorian families, jobs and small businesses. Let me know, do you trust the Labor government to get it right this time?

24.01.2022 Today I spoke against extending the state of emergency for another six months. Our democracy is too fragile, and our freedom too precious for Daniel Andrews to have that unfetted power extended. The legislation will be voted on tonight.

24.01.2022 Rules for voting in local Council elections have changed. If you have bought a property in another council area since the last council election or by-election and you would like to vote in that electorate, you must now apply to that council to enrol. You can contact your local council directly to enrol by 4pm on 28 August. For further information visit: https://www.vec.vic.gov.au/voti/2020-local-council-election

24.01.2022 Daniel Andrews’ Belt and Road deal is a dud deal for Victoria and a dud deal for Victorian jobs. The Victorian Liberal Nationals support tearing it up.

23.01.2022 Too many mistakes. Too many lies. Too much damage which will take a generation to fix. Victorians deserve answers and accountability. If Labor won't do it, the next Liberal Government will.

23.01.2022 The petition opposing Daniel Andrews' plan to extend state of emergency powers to 18 months now has 22,000 signatures. Support the fight at https://www.michaelobrien.com.au/have-your-say-labors-stat/

22.01.2022 You couldn't make this up.

19.01.2022 Just before 2am this morning, the State of Emergency extension bill passed the Legislative Council 20 votes to 19. This followed Labor arrogantly gagging Opposition questions and debate on the legislation. Many of the questions we were asking were your questions - on mental health, on sole trader and business support, on Chief Health Officer advice, on the legality on the legislation. ... The bill will now go to the Legislative Assembly for debate and vote.

19.01.2022 Labor’s botched COVID response has seen police pulled from communities across the state and left local police in holiday hotspots fending for themselves. Daniel Andrews must provide additional resources to support the outstanding work of local police and ensure stations in holiday spots are open and available 24/7 to the community this Easter long weekend.

18.01.2022 LABOR GOVERNMENT SEEKING TO EXTEND STATE OF EMERGENCY TO 18 MONTHS This is the act of a Premier whose power has gone to his head. Daniel Andrews has caused this second wave by his government’s hotel quarantine scandal. Now he wants to extend his power over you without being accountable for it.... Victorians deserve democracy, they deserve accountability, they deserve transparency. The Victorian Liberal Nationals will fight this power grab because Victorians’ rights deserve to be protected.

18.01.2022 18 August - originally known as Long Tan Day is now commemorated as Vietnam Veterans' Day. The victory at Long Tan in 1966 was not without its costs. Seventeen were killed, including another who later died of wounds sustained during the battle. This included eleven national servicemen. While our veterans here in Victoria cannot gather in the same way as previous years, we remember and thank them for their service this Vietnam Veterans' Day.... Lest we forget.

17.01.2022 Today the Liberal Nationals will move a no-confidence motion against the Premier. It is the first step needed to dissolve the Parliament and allow Victorians to vote the Andrews Labor Government out of office. Victoria’s are fed up with the failures, cover-ups and lies from this shambolic Labor Government.... If you’ve lost confidence in Daniel Andrews and his government sign the petition here https://www.noconfidence.com.au/ #noconfidenceLabor

16.01.2022 Today’s The Age newspaper has exposed another secret deal between the Andrews Labor Government and the Chinese Communist Government separate to the Belt and Road agreement. It’s a deal Andrews and Labor kept secret from the Victorian community prior to the last election, and are still reluctant to tell us all the details. Our position is clear: the Liberal Nationals will withdraw Victoria from Labor’s controversial Belt and Road agreement. Victoria’s interests must come fir...st. A dud deal that compromises jobs, security and sovereignty is not a deal that the Liberals can ever support. 15.01.2022 Daniel Andrews likes to claim every decision he's made is based on "expert health advice." But today the Chief Health Officer told Melbourne radio that the 8pm curfew was not based on his health advice. So what else is Andrews lying about?

15.01.2022 Melbourne Legacy Week Support Veterans and their families this year by buying a Bear to display in your house #LegacyBearHunt Legacy merchandise can be purchased online at www.legacyshop.com.au. 14.01.2022 $100 Billion in new debt in today's Victorian Budget yet unemployment to remain high for years to come.

13.01.2022 Today we mark 75 years since Victory in the Pacific Day and the end of the Second World War. We say thank you for your service to this remarkable generation of Australians. Some one million Australians served in the Second World War, the 39,000 who lost their lives, and the 30,000 taken as prisoners of war.... This was a war like no other in history, with Australians fighting in theatres of war across the globe from Europe to North Africa, the Mediterranean and the Middle East, to Asia and the Pacific, and conflict coming to the Australian mainland for the first time. Lest We Forget.

10.01.2022 The Andrews Labor Government’s list of failures, cover-ups and lies are endless. How can any Victorian have confidence in a Labor Government incompetent enough to cause our second wave and dishonest enough to cover up their guilt. www.NoConfidence.com.au #NoConfidenceLabor

10.01.2022 Daniel Andrews has got very serious questions to answer. He promised Victorians he had never discussed an individual planning matter with developer John Woodman and yet the evidence before Victoria’s corruption watchdog tells a different story. The Premier needs to come clean. Victorians cannot afford to have a Premier who is compromised. ... It’s time for IBAC to call the Premier and get him to answer questions under oath. Let's hope he doesn’t have the same amnesia that he had before the Coate inquiry, because Victorians deserve the truth.

09.01.2022 Today’s crime statistics confirm Daniel Andrews’ failed response to COVID-19 is risking the safety of all Victorians. Despite being in lockdown, offending has spiked and vulnerable members of the community continue to bear the brunt of Labor’s economic, health and safety fallout. With concerning increases in domestic violence and high impact, high harm offending, it’s little wonder why Victorians have no confidence in Andrews Labor Government’s ability to keep communities safe.

07.01.2022 This week the Legislative Council passed the Liberal Nationals’ amendment, 19 votes to 15, to protect families of deceased sexual assault victims and allow them to speak out about their loved one. It should never have come to this, but - thanks to our amendments - victims of sexual assault will now not lose their voice. Only Labor MPs voted against this protection. ... 06.01.2022 As Shadow Minister for Aviation it was great to visit Virtual Wings Pacific Flight Training Centre today and to catch up with CEO Massimo Massa and his team to discuss the opportunity for flight simulator training under Part 61. Virtual Wings Pacific is a Keysborough based flight training facility whose services will include airline cadet programs, pilot endorsements and currency training. They also provide enthusiasts with an opportunity to fly in a simulator. I was pleased... to try my hand in the Airbus A320 and the Full-Motion Cessna 172 G1000 simulators. Virtual Wings Pacific

06.01.2022 The Alfred Hospital is falling apart with a leaky roof, flooded surgical theatres and cracked walls. The Australian Medical Association’s (AMA) Victoria Branch has called on the government to provide $2 billion for the redevelopment, citing the hospital as in the worst shape of Melbourne’s hospitals. The redevelopment of Alfred Health’s Prahran site should be a priority for next week’s State Budget.

05.01.2022 At the 11th hour, on the 11th day, of this 11th month, we will remember them. Lest we forget.

05.01.2022 Today’s announcement of assistance for Victorian sole traders is too little for too few. Many businesses that need help simply won’t get it under Labor’s policy. Until the Andrews Labor Government lets sole trader businesses resume their operations safely, it must provide them with the financial assistance they need to stay alive.

04.01.2022 Victoria is facing a child protection emergency. Secret and highly classified government documents show failures by the Andrews Labor Government have caused the deaths of some of the most vulnerable Victorian kids. We urgently need a full, independent inquiry.

03.01.2022 In Parliament yesterday I questioned why the Labor Government tried to avoid sitting, contrary to updated advice from the Chief Health Officer. The Chief Health Officer’s advice means there is no reason why both houses of parliament cannot sit with metro MPs present. This would ensure there is proper scrutiny and accountability of the extraordinary powers being used by Daniel Andrews.

02.01.2022 The decision to impose a curfew on Melbourne wasn't based on the Chief Health Officer's advice. It wasn't based on police request. It was a decision made by Daniel Andrews alone.... The Premier just wants to control Victorians because he can't control the virus. The Liberal Nationals believe the curfew should be lifted immediately. Victorians deserve this basic freedom back.

01.01.2022 The Liberal Nationals will always stand for Victorians’ rights and freedoms in the face of Labor government overreach. We will vigorously oppose Daniel Andrews’ push to indefinitely extend his State of Emergency powers. No government deserves a blank cheque for such extraordinary powers over Victorians’ lives and livelihoods.... Governments must be accountable to the people not the other way around.
