Grant is well known within the Gordon Rugby Community having served as President of the Killara West Pymble Rugby Club and will be a great asset ...in our commitment to developing our grassroot talent. It is an honour for the players to be able to acknowledge our past as we create a new future. 11.01.2022 MOSSY JOINS THE 200 CLUB This weekend we celebrate another club stalwart featuring in his 200th Game for Gordon. Erik is also a former Gordon Junior representative having learnt his trade at the Wahroonga Tigers, Lindfield Rugby Club and Knox Grammar School. As a Gordon Junior, Erik won several State Championships and as a result featured regularly for both the Sydney and NSW Junior Representative teams.... After graduating from Knox in 2009, Erik joined the Gordon Colts program straight out of school in 2010 and spent 2 years playing Colts before making his 1st Grade Debut against Randwick in Round 2 in 2012. Since then, Erik has been a regular in 1st & 2nd Grade, amassing over 60 1st Grade games. Although hes yet to feature in a Grand Final for Gordon, Erik reach the Semi-Finals in 2nd grade in 2014 and also won a Minor Premiership with 2nd Grade in 2019 before being cruelly knocked out of the Semi-Finals. Erik is well renowned for driving the culture at Gordon and is well liked by all players and staff. Hes the life of all social events and is usually involved in all wild stories from a night out. Whilst being known for playing above his weight, Eriks small stature hasnt stopped him from dominating some of the bigger balls carriers in the Shute Shield. Eriks guidance and leadership at the club has also been greatly appreciated, especially to the younger players who now look up to him. We thank Erik for his service to the club, particularly through the tough times during his early years its great to see you leading the next generation towards a Club Championship in 2020. 10.01.2022 ANDREW CHAPMAN 200 CLUB GAMES Club stalwart Andrew Chappo Chapman recently celebrated his 200th Club Game for Gordon when he led the 3rd Grade side out against Manly a few weeks ago. Andrew is another product from Knox Grammar School and is a local Gordon Junior Representative, having played for Roseville as a youngster. The Gordon Rugby Club runs strongly throughout the Chapman family, with both Andrew and his father Hilton, playing rugby and cricket for Gordon. Hilton is ...currently manager of the 3rd Grade side (of which Andrew is captain) and has recently spent time on the Board as a Director of the club. After finishing Knox in 2008, Chappo took a GAP year before joining the Colts program in 2010 and featured in the 2nd Colts Grand Final team which went down to Sydney University. Chappo made his 1st Grade debut in June 2012 against Manly, and was a regular in the 1st/2nd Grade sides for the better part of the last decade. Throughout this time Chappo played over 50 1st Grade games for Gordon. He also featured in the 2nd Grade side of 2014 that fell 1 game short of the Grand Final. In 2019, Chappo captained the Gordon 3rd Grade side to the clubs first premiership since 2009 a fitting result for someone who endured the tough times at the club in the years prior. Chappos leadership and strong lineout knowledge would be rivalled by some of the greats of the game. This has greatly contributed towards the clubs charge for the 2020 Club Championship. Players like Chappo are the backbone of all grassroots rugby clubs. Its only appropriate that Chappo is able to enjoy the tailend of his career with regular success after some tough years over the past decade. 09.01.2022 Every 4 days a baby in Australia is born with Cystic Fibrosis. There are over 1 million carriers of the CF gene in Australia. Randwick Rugby are proud supporters of Cystic Fibrosis Australia and will be proudly supporting the NeverRest Challenge in 2020 by completing 10,000 push ups this weekend for the "1 Million Push Ups in 24hours to raise funds and awareness for Cystic Fibrosis. The Highlanders will join their brothers in Rugby to help support a great cause by committing ...our players to complete 5000 push ups. This will culminated at 3pm when both Gordon and Randwick players will join each other on the field (within Social Distancing guides) to complete the final push ups together as a group.
