25.01.2022 Day #5 Female Football Week TEAM MANAGER PROFILES Manager: Kathy Bambagiotti Team: G11 Stars... I’ve been involved with GSC for nearly 4 years. This was my first season as team manager and love seeing the girls play so well, never giving up and improving each week! . . Thanks for your enthusiasm and hard work this season Kathy! It’s great to see the girls improving and having fun at the same time. 23.01.2022 Day #7 Female Football Week VOLUNTEER SUPERSTAR PROFILE Volunteer: Sigrid Visser Current Role: Team Manager, U18A Previous Roles: Coach and Club Coaching Coordinator... I’ve been involved with my son’s team as either manager or coach since U10s. They’re now U18! I also held the Coaching Coordinator role for a few years and helped set up the Club Training afternoon to relieve parents of the coaching duties and bring in some more professional guidance and coaching. Our core team has been together since U6 and I love watching them all grow up and sharing the many football memories we’ve had over the years. Coaching in Australia has come such a long way! 8 years ago, I was still getting notes and tips from my German coaching friend as there was NOTHING available here. Now there is a wealth of information for anyone to get started and involved! . . Thank you Siggi for all your hard work over the last 8 years!! We are privileged to have you as part of our club. 19.01.2022 Day #1 Female Football Week COACH PROFILES Coach: Sarah Schneider Team: U7 Dingos... This is my second season with GSC. First season coaching. I've enjoyed being involved in the mini successes that we've had during the season - eg a player so happy and proud of themselves for kicking a good shot, or seeing a child's behaviour improve on the pitch, or a fun and rewarding training session where the kids are all in. The kids (and I) love it when the coach teams up with a player during the training sessions - eg the number game where you run in from the corners and try to score. What has been challenging is having very different skill levels and trying to balance the teams yet keeping it fair and engaging for everyone. We've got a great group of parents who have been super supportive though, and a fantastic manager, which has meant zero politics! . . Thanks Coach Sarah for encouraging and inspiring our young players!! #GordonGirls #FemaleFootballWeek #WhatsBestForHer

11.01.2022 Day #5 Female Football Week TEAM MANAGER PROFILES Manager: Amanda Watts Team: U13A... I’ve been with GSC for two years. Manager of the U12 and U13 for the last two years. Cameron has played for the last 2 years and is now in U13, while Jamie played last year in a U6 team. I love managing things and being the organizer so I find it bizarrely rewarding to get the team organized. I secretly love a good spreadsheet with lots of lists and rosters! I also enjoy being part of the community spirit, knowing its ultimately supporting our children to have a great club to play for it’s so great to see them building friendships, keeping up their physical activity and having so much fun with their community. Funny or memorable moment this season: there’s a few, we seem to have a laugh every game by the sideline just last week there was a funny incident, as despite updating the game location in the team app, and through a further WhatsApp reminder, we had two players go to the wrong oval. There was an entertaining banter when they finally arrived at the correct location, suggesting that clearly the Manager’s communications were not clear enough seems like I’m going to have to start making personal phone calls the night before to make sure everyone makes it to the correct game location! . . Thanks Amanda for creating a great team environment and keeping our U13A team organised! (and who doesn’t love a good spreadsheet?!)
11.01.2022 Thanks to XLR8 Player Development! The players love it. The parents love it.... The community loves it.
08.01.2022 Day #1 Female Football Week COACH PROFILES Coach: Louise Smit Team: U13A... I have been coaching for Gordon Soccer Club since 2017 - Under 10s to Under 13s this year. I’ve always had a passion for the game, playing myself when I was younger. Coaching can be challenging at times, especially keeping the younger age groups engaged! However, since the club has teamed with XLR8 as part of our training regime, I have found that working with these qualified coaches it has greatly benefited the teams I have had the pleasure of coaching. One of the most memorable moments was last season the U12s managed to win their division with a solid season. It’s exciting to see so many young females with a passion for the game, and I’m pleased I can play my part as a female coach. . . Coach Louise is a passionate and well-respected coach, loved by players and parents. Thank you Louise!! #GordonGirls #FemaleFootballWeek #WhatsBestForHer
07.01.2022 Day #1 Female Football Week COACH PROFILES COACH PROFILE Coach: Kathy Zvirblis Team: G11 Stars... This is the first year I have been involved with GSC. My daughter Annabel joined the GU11 Stars after not playing soccer since kindergarten, and I thought it's a female team, with a female manager, why not add a female coach? I started playing soccer around the same age as these girls, and I still play in W35s soccer today, and I would love to foster a lifelong love for the game in these girls, and show them that you can keep playing for as long as you want. One of the biggest challenges I have faced this year is trying to match where the players want to play to the position that best suits them and their style of play. I think we have done a pretty good job so far this season, and our gameplay has certainly improved in these last few weeks. One of the most memorable moments while coaching this year was trying to explain how to use a particularly boggy and mud-packed goal mouth to our advantage when no-one wanted to step foot in it! . Thanks Kathy, we are privileged to have such a passionate coach and great role model for our girls. Good luck in your game today! #GordonGirls #FemaleFootballWeek #WhatsBestForHer
