Interesting article in The Washington Post (from a while back) about the start of the Little Pantry Movement. 'Addressing food insecurity takes a lot, and this is another pretty innovative piece to the puzzle that meets a really local need where it exists. Hunger is a year-round problem for people.'... 'It brought into view poverty in our community....But I think it also gave people a new and visible way to make a difference. 10.01.2022 Summer Community Barbeques at the Gordon Street Little Pantry Every Thursday evening 6-7pm - from Nov 26-Dec 17 All are welcome and it will be free. Sausages/veggie burgers and fruit.... We would love you to drop by, or if you are interested in helping out with the barbeque, please get in touch. Note that we are hoping to provide a safe opportunity for people to get together and enjoy some food, so please remember masks, hand hygiene and social distancing.

05.01.2022 A year ago a small community group started a little free pantry on Gordon Street outside Footscray Church of Christ. Over last 12 months of lockdowns and job losses we have been overwhelmed by the kindness and support of the good people of Footscray. So many people donating food and helping out. You are all amazing! We want you to know that your generosity has been and is still appreciated by many many people who live in our Footscray community. Thankyou all.

03.01.2022 Christmas Eve community barbecue tonight 6-7pm at the Gordon Street Little Panty All welcome. And massive thanks to those of you who donated Christmas presents and food to give out! This is the last of our Thursday evening community barbecue series at the Pantry. Thanks so much to everyone who has helped out, or dropped in, over the last month. It has been wonderful!
