21.01.2022 OK - all you rebel singers, here is the Youtube link to the song I have composed for Extinction Rebellion South West. A catchy easy to learn and sing chorus. Planning to perform the song at the 'Town Hall' meeting coming up soon. https://youtu.be/TGBI6z7Sd3s

20.01.2022 'Delfini 2019' - one performance only 7pm 13th February - check out some video grabs from a recent rehearsal. Celebrations for the official opening of Bunbury’s wonderful new Dolphin Discovery Centre (DDC) will begin on Wednesday 13th February at 7pm with the performance of a short new musical play, written by Sigari Luckwell with music by Gordon Tayler; both from Bunbury. With Andy King directing, Gordon in charge of the music, and a high quality local cast of 20, this is an... event not to be missed. Delfini is an imaginative journey into the past, storytelling with music, dialogue and humour, the history of dolphin-human interactions in Koombana Bay, providing entertainment and historical interest for all. Delfini will be performed in the DDC’s magnificent conference room overlooking Koombana Bay, and will last about half an hour. Entry is free, and refreshments will be provided. Please email [email protected] to let them know you’re coming.

20.01.2022 Ah, it's a complex journey. Sometimes, a short break from practice moves us from periodic plateaus to even greater heights - returning refreshed and allowing muscle memory to run its' surprisingly beneficial course, and the impossible becomes more possible. Which is not to diminish the essential importance of consistent practice. Engaging with music in whatever way appeals to you, is always full of magical twists and turns, spin-offs and take-offs towards a more creative journey and a deeper sensitivity to life and love!

17.01.2022 My latest project just released today on Youtube - it is a one take 19min uncut video of a beautiful sunrise taken from my home in Usher, with my music and various affirmations woven into the fabric. It brings together something of my songwriting/composing and personal meditation journey, placed within the visual component of video. https://youtu.be/HrSsnnyD1is

16.01.2022 https://youtu.be/nIf-fUIQaPI The Eulogy: This is a must-see movie length documentary about the life and death of Australian child prodigy pianist Geoffery Tozer, and the scathing eulogy at his funeral given by former Prime Minister Paul Keating, directed at the arts community. 'Tozer was so far above the rest, that it left no room for anyone else' - and so he was abandoned in typical 'tall poppy' Australian tradition. I was moved to tears - so sad!

15.01.2022 Greater Bunbury Greens held a regional gathering last week-end at the Myalup Pines Cottages to share ideas and to plan our way forward.

13.01.2022 Currently rehearsing with some wonderful South-West singers. We are staging an original musical play called ‘Delfini’ (meaning ‘dolphin’) The presentation is on Wednesday evening 13th February at 7pm, and is part of the opening week activities at the new Koombana Bay Dolphin Discovery Centre in Bunbury WA. This fascinating story set to music, traces the historical to the present day connection of humans to the Koombana Bay dolphins.... It begins with an Aboriginal seer looking out over the bay from 60,000 years ago, looking into the future. The text and lyrics are written by local poet Sigari Luckwell, music by Gordon Tayler & Sigari, and direction by Andy King. The play runs about 35 minutes. Refreshments - tea, coffee & biscuits provided. The DDC does not have a liquor licence as yet, so BYO is acceptable. Entry is free. But please be sure to RSVP to [email protected] A local story created and performed by our own local music community - not to be missed!

12.01.2022 Can any local musicians help me please? A production of Andrew Lloyd-Webber's 'Aspects of Love' is currently in rehearsal in Bunbury, with performances scheduled to begin on 8th May at the Bourke St New Lyric Theatre, Bunbury. I am the musical director and conductor. We have a small instrumental ensemble with people like Jacqueline Ross (clarinet), Michelle Bracken-Perks (flutes), Fionnuala Hannon (piano), Morgan Halket (cello), & Gracie Smith (percussion & guitar). ... My violin player and also my keyboard/synthesizer player has just unexpectedly withdrawn, so I am urgently trying to find others to replace them. This is a great show - challenging in many unexpected ways. Are you interested? Or can you suggest someone else? Even a competent music student would be fine. Below are the rehearsal and performance dates when the musicians are required. First musicians run through is tomorrow! Even if you were unable to do all the rehearsals and performances, would still consider having you on board. Pretty easy keyboard stuff - mostly just sustaining chords. If interested, I will get the violin score or the keyboard score to you ASAP. Many thanks. Musicians required on these dates: middle week-end of April school holidays Saturday 11th April - musicians only rehearsal (1.30 to 5pm - set up 1.15pm) last week-end of April school holidays Sunday 19th April - sitz probe with cast (2.00pm) Sunday 3rd May (1.30pm) - Dress/Technical rehearsal Monday 4th May (7.30pm) - Dress/Technical rehearsal Wednesday 6th May (7.30pm) - Dress/Technical rehearsal Friday 8th May / evening - Opening Night performance Saturday 9th May / evening - 2nd performance Sunday 10th May / matinee - 3rd performance (Mother’s Day) Wednesday 13th May (7.30pm) - Run through rehearsal Friday 15th May / evening - 4th performance Saturday 16th May / evening - 5th performance Sunday 17th May / matinee - 6th performance

05.01.2022 To give family and friends the opportunity to express themselves musically is the gift that keeps on giving forever. All the subtle healing and connecting forces that mix and emerge within and around us behind all the songs we sing, the notes we play, the expanding and refining of the senses, the application and discipline required to achieve success whatever levels we aspire to - it is all a very magical elevation and evolution of human consciousness. Everyone should have the chance to explore the inner workings and life changing power of music!

04.01.2022 The story of South Australian born Sir George Hubert Wilkins is absolutely incredible - WW1 photographer and hero; early polar explorer aviator and sub-mariner;... and so much more. My long time friend Dr Stephen Carthew is touring WA in April doing a series of talks & discussions about this remarkable man. Wilkins ability to overcome extreme adversity will leave you inspired and empowered. Suitable for all ages and cultural backgrounds. See more
