19.01.2022 Due to the closing down of non-essential businesses, Gorman's Art Gallery in Casterton is closed until further notice. However, there will no doubt be new art to view (what else are artists to do, but create in these troubling times?) when the Gallery re-opens. We wish all a safe, well and patient personal 'gathering' time, and trust we will all consider and look out for those who may be struggling by checking in, even from a distance.

17.01.2022 Gormans Art Gallery is now closed and will remain closed until further notice. If you have any inquiries please phone 0408 919 394, if you leave a message, someone will return your call ASAP. We apologise for any inconvenience and look forward to seeing everyone again when it’s safe to do so. - Secretary- Gormans Art Gallery.

17.01.2022 Meagan Lonsdale, one of Gorman's Art Gallery's accomplished artists (self-taught, which is amazing, given her work) is opening her 'On Paper' solo show at her home town of Edenhope this afternoon at the Red Tail Gallery. If you fancy a drive, you won't be disappointed. If not today, perhaps take advantage of the opportunity to see Meagan's talent while the show is on.

16.01.2022 Some lovely new work to appreciate from Red Tail Gallery artists. More photos to come, but much better in person, so a visit is encouraged :-)

14.01.2022 The 2019 Clarice Beckett Art Award presentations and opening was, as always a well-attended, warm and enjoyable evening. As stated by this year's judge, Dagny Strand, (whose job no one envied) it was not an easy task choosing two from this year's wonderful selection of entries. And the winners are... The Glad Laslett Patron's Award - Lee Snibson of Harrow for her pastel 'Apple Harvest' and overall, Clarice Beckett Art Award - Jenn White of Sandford for her linocut 'Safe - Development Arrested'.

11.01.2022 A wonderful activity for the people of Casterton

10.01.2022 Each August, members look forward to entering work into the Coleraine Art and Photography Show. Not only is it an opportunity to have their work seen, but entry also supports the arts in a rural town. This year, Julie Kent took out the Best Watercolour for her moody scene titled 'Cold and Still'. Congratulations, Julie!

This Friday we will be open for late night shoppers, along with other traders. If you've not dropped in for a while, please do so and say g'day while having a browse. 06.01.2022 Local Artists Julie Kent and Jenn White will be at the Sandford Hall Market this Sunday 8th September 9 till 1. Say G'day while you're doing the rounds snaffling a bargain or two.

06.01.2022 Gorman's Art Gallery officially reopened this week, complete with hand sanitiser and social distancing requirements. The space has had a spruce-up, with walls freshly painted, and. members are in the process of adding new works. New member, Julie Love has some fine pottery pieces on display. Anyone looking for a one-of-a-kind gift is sure to discover something suitable. The selection ranges from greeting cards, matted small works and miniature paintings to practical items, decor accents and larger paintings, in all mediums. It was encouraging and heart-warming to hear comments about how great it is to see the doors open again. We agree!

06.01.2022 CLARICE BECKETT ART AWARD 2020 ON HOLD Due to the current social distancing situation, and unwillingness to put anyone at risk (who knows what the situation will be like in June?) this year's Clarice Beckett Art Award is postponed. We're hoping there will be good cause to celebrate art, later in the year. In the meantime, release tension and be happy in your creative space. Please do the right thing by yourself, and everyone else.

05.01.2022 Looks like we might be heading into a semi-normal 2021, so for those artists interested in entering, time to enter the 'zone'. Entry forms available from GAG, Jenn, Alannah, or email the organisers directly.

05.01.2022 The True Blue Art Show, run by the Rotary Club of Casterton, showcases some amazing art this year and we would like to offer a hearty congratulations to members of Gorman's Art Gallery for their section wins and placings. 05.01.2022 If anyone is interested in practicing, improving techniques, challenging themselves, or trying a new medium, July is World Watercolor (watercolour) Month. A watercolour a day - doesn't have to be huge, or a masterpiece, just a bit of fun and art every day. https://doodlewash.com/e/world-watercolor-month/2019-07-01/

04.01.2022 Anyone interested in finding out about Gorman's Art Gallery and what we do, or wanting to discuss membership, drop into the Casterton Town Hall this Friday evening.

01.01.2022 Well it looks like the Clarice Beckett Exhibition for this year may not go ahead and as the Gallery needs a turnover of paintings as we’ve worked to have our Gallery ready for re opening, I will take my paintings to the gallery along with other members to freshen up the gallery with new works to view. So we’ll see you at the Gallery. Alannah Foster -Secretary
