25.01.2022 Roan's funeral is at Hogbin Drive Crematorium Chapel, Coffs Harbour, at 2.30pm Friday 4th October 2019. Brian, Carol & Iona welcome all family & friends to attend. In lieu of any flowers, we kindly ask for donations to the "Charlie Teo Foundation" a charity where all proceeds support research into a cure for brain cancer.... Please rsvp if you are hoping to attend so that we are able to cater for refreshments afterwards. Thankyou.

14.01.2022 Otis Carey, well known local Indigenous Artist, sent Roan this heart-felt message from Chris Hemsworth. Unbeknown to us, the wonderful nursing staff had gone al...l out to spread the word to their friends and friends of... to try and and ask a really special favour from one of Roan's heroes. Even the local radio hosts AB&Ben had been up to their tricks again. Hopefully Roan will see this projected clear and loud in his room tomorrow. Thankyou everyone. Carol See more

09.01.2022 Today an almighty dragon descended to earth to collect a mighty warrior and take him to his rightful place. My beautiful boy left us this afternoon and left us ...swimming in love. Roan was a great man whose profoundness will never be lost on all that crossed his path. He taught me so much in his 21 years , honesty, integrity, true courage, compassion and forgiveness. Today his lesson was profound, he taught me the essence of true love. It has been the greatest honour to call you my son. Rest In Peace my beautiful son, free of the burdens at last. I love you Roan Clay Clarkson. Free to fly, my mighty warrior.

06.01.2022 Two beautiful long time Camp Quality volunteers from Tamworth, Lyn and Anita, made the trip to Coffs on the weekend to reminisce with Roan. Love them. X

05.01.2022 The caregivers at Coffs Harbour Base Hospital - and especially the crew in Rehab, who have been part of Roan's extended family - have been absolutely wonderful, adding love and humour to Roan's life. They have helped and supported us immensely. And of course, once again, a big thankyou to Chris for this lovely film.

05.01.2022 Roan’s funeral on Friday was an avalanche of love. It started 10 minutes late due to the long queue of people entering the room and signing the book. Later, there was a similar delay as everyone queued up to say their final goodbyes. I’ve not heard about the tally yet, but there were so many people who’d known him and his family across his 21 years. This included two rows of people in hospital scrubs from Coffs Harbour Base Hospital, plus their colleagues who didn't wear scru...bs, the people from Camp Quality and New Horizons those who had collectively taken care of his body, spirit and mind through the course of trials that would have felled many others. The funeral, like Roan, was inspiring and full of love, with his beautiful personality being lifted shining amongst us, as the constraints and images of his illness fell away through spoken tributes and many, many hugs. As well as being moved, I have never been so interested to hear of speakers’ understanding of Roan and his responses to his life and other people. There were phrases and expressions in those tributes that I will remember for ever. His selflessness and gentle, intuitive care for others shone through with others, I wept often and smiled often too. It took all of those people to love and care for him, but he was able to love all of us back in equal measure. That was his capacity for relationships. Roan was simply extraordinary. - Jane x

04.01.2022 Jenny and Lauren, two of Roan's most ardent admirers amongst the Coffs Hospital Rehab Nursing Team, present Roan with a Blues shirt personally signed by Brad Fittler. I think that Roan was really thrilled and touched by this lovely gesture.... he has asked that all the nursing team also sign his shirt.
