19.01.2022 COVID - 19 UPDATE: At this stage we have had to cancel all classes in Batemans Bay once again due to new cases emerging within our community. We will keep you posted with updates. Please note no more karate until further notice in Batemans Bay.... Note from Darrell: Monday's Class Sadly half way through the class, we received notification of active Covid-19 cases in Batemans Bay. Thus, in the interest of safety we stopped immediately. Batemans Bay Goshin Ryu: Hi everyone, bad new - after being closed down for such a long time, finally the light at the end of the tunnel said we could start training on the 20th July and the light has just been turned off. Covid has hit Batemans Bay.... from only a few days ago being detecte...d at one location it is now in excess of 4 locations. Two of these being sporting events that we know of & that is all in the space of a couple of days. Due to this & wanting to do the right thing by everybody, the disappointing thing is that we will not be restarting tonight. This is a hard decision as I myself am as keen as the rest of you to get back to training. And as much as I hate to admit it....I miss all you guys. 16.01.2022 CHANGE OF VENUE We will no longer be training at the Community Hall. The Shire requires the hall for other purposes at this stage. We are currently in negotiations to secure another training place. We should no more in the next day or so. Please pass this message on to others within the Club.... Time: 6pm-8pm & Wednesday 22nd of July Time: 6pm - 8pm Cost: $8 per session Same venue: Batemans Bay Community Centre NEW GUIDELINES - COVID -19 *Prior to entering the centre, all participants & supporters will have their temperature checked. 01.01.2022 NEWSLETTER: Batemans Bay Goshin Ryu Newsletter - November 2020 I don’t have to tell you all of what an interesting & different year it has been. But for the moment & hopefully for the future we are back to semi-normal or the new ‘semi-normal’. With the end of the year approaching, we have two major event in karate. ... GRADING A grading on Monday the 30th November 2020 (for those eligible). And a Christmas party on the 14th December. Grading: A pre-grading will be held on Monday 23rd November at 6.00pm sharp. All those eligible for grading must present themselves at the pre-grading. Membership & insurance must be up-to-date before this event. Grading fee $85 to be paid on the night of pre-grading, which will be the registration date for your grading. Blue books must be presented & up to date. All of this needs to be done on this night as there is a fair amount of paperwork to complete. If you are requested to forgo this grading for the next, this money will be returned. Please do not be late. If you are late without a good reason you will not pre-grade. You still have a fair bit of time left to organise lifts or work to ensure that you arrive on time. These same rules will apply to the grading on the following Monday. Some allowances will be made because of the turbulence of the year & events that could not be controlled by ourselves. Good luck to everybody and I thank you for your commitment to the art of karate. All going well I hope to be seeing you before the pre-grading. This is only a few weeks away so work hard, work precise & keep your fitness up. CHRISTMAS PARTY The Christmas party will be held at Darrell's house, Nelligen on Sunday the 14th December around midday. As per usual the club will supply the meat and if everyone would be kind enough to bring a plate we can have a nice relaxed day. All are welcome.
