23.01.2022 THE VOICE OF OUR YOUTH! Melody & Lyrics ENTIRELY composed, performed & self-videoed by students from our Jones Chorus 'Gospo Education' Program (ages 12- 16) on subjects that matter to THEM during this unsettling and thought-provoking COVID19 period. Concepts such as awareness, sexism, positivity, equality, stress and more were brought to light, discussed, challenged and developed into original music. This uplifting video is a combination of their closing task for term 2, whe...reby students were challenged to utilise just some of the tools provided in their online classes with the Jones Education Program. Tools such as anatomically-based voice production skills, knowledge of the history of jazz & the origins of the blues with reference to its African & World-roots and also the vast structural elements of western harmony in this context. With all of this in mind, their director Joanna Arul Tropeano knew that our kids had their own story much like their fore-mothers and father before them - and these stories must be accounted for, must be harnessed and must be projected. These are the stories of the Jones Chorus and, we are SO PROUD of them.
