19.01.2022 A while ago we promised some ready made salve kits to encourage you all to do a little medicinal brewing! They're packed and ready to post. The kits include: *Dried plant material, you may choose between yarrow or calendula. * Enough beeswax for the perfect blend.... * A recipe with step by step instructions. * A packet of seeds for the plant material that you choose. * Two salve jars for your finished product. Your kit will be $35.00 including post, you'll need to shoot through a message so that we can arrange postage. Brewing a healing salve is a lovely way to spend some time
17.01.2022 We’re sure you’ve all heard it before; there’s two sides to a coin. We’d like to stretch your mind, just a little and tell you that there is more. For every coin has two sides, we know this much is true, but perhaps we deny the edges and it’s here we find the truth.... For a coin would not spin without its edge, nor without its spinner, and the fingers that clutch the coin are surely the beginner. So as we’re faced with this global pause, we can choose now, how we spin it. If our world was a coin we’ve got skin in the game and an opportunity to swing it. I have no time, is an old excuse, I’m tired and I’m time poor. The world is closed and you do have time, so soil is where to aim for. Plant some seeds, turn some soil, remember something old that’s new. For the wisdom you’ve lost is only skin deep, it’s silently waiting for you. For all the torment and all the pain there’s always a silver lining, it’s found on the edge, the forgotten place where abundance is not finite. For all of the people that are planting seeds and finding magic once more. Power to your arm as you spin the coin and find the edge, it’s all organic lore! A fertile edge is not to be feared it’s a spectacular place to be. Nurturing soil and planting seeds is organic, Anarchy

05.01.2022 The seasonal spiral, inward turn has been amplified this year, there's no doubt. It's usually a gentle but firm spiral in, this year has been more akin to doors being slammed, while the window shutters shatter, fall and crash; there's been little to no time to adjust. Our garden time here has been split with homeschooling, grade 6 math is pretty awful and Yr 10 math should be outlawed.... We'd like to take this time to tip our hats to all of our community here that are on the same spiral in, juggling so much and doing it so well. Managing a family and finding the time to nourish the family unit, while teaching too, is no small task. It has been a hard few months and the going has been rough. Right outside the kitchen window here, the seasonal clock turns because Mother Nature waits for no one. The old cherry tree has turned to a chaos of colour, reflecting a golden hue back to the kitchen sink. The bright coloured parrots have left, likely flown north and have been replaced with small finch creatures that camouflage themselves well amongst the fallen debris of Autumn's gifts, eating the small insects that thrive under the fallen leaf litter. Today our dear plant ally yarrow found the kitchen bench space. Plant material that has been hanging to dry, oil that has been brewing for twelve months and seeds harvested to share and replant in the coming warmer times. The salve that was stirred warmed the kitchen, and the plant material collected, a good reminder to the whole family that it's ok to shield and protect. Infact the bloom of yarrow is shaped like a perfect shield and this is an insight to it's healing properties. To stem bleeding. To promote healing. To shield To repair and protect. The salve made here today will be important for our family's medicine chest. There will be a few packs of medicinal bounty to share. We have yarrow seed from our last years harvest, we have dried plant material that's ready to brew with and just enough bees wax for you to make your own salve for your own medicinal use. Gift packs with dried yarrow, seeds (so that you may grow your own), beeswax and recipes will be listed in the coming days. Stay tuned
