19.01.2022 Good Morning TFFL Crew. Well what a weekend it’s been. It’s been cold and extremely wet. We also waited in anticipation on Sunday for what all of us thought would be lifting of some restrictions, but not to be. Which I’m sure left everyone feeling frustrated, angry, sad & feedup. 2020 has definitely been challenging and for most of us it’s left us with no clear end to this lock down and no real clear road map out. It’s devastated small businesses, mental health issues have ...increased and our kids have been left with no real outlet through sport or visiting their friends. Our son Bailey has been homeschooling for 5 months give or take a week or two. For the first few months he was ok, but being a 15 year old boy & loving his sport and his mates was left with nothing. I remember him saying to me a month or two ago mum I’m just over this now, I can’t see my mates and can’t play basketball. I’m sure many of you as parents have gone through the same or similar situations and it’s heartbreaking to see your kids missing crucial schooling, friendships and just being active and interacting with others through sport. But today he finally went back to school and he was so happy being able to reconnect with his mates. Let’s hope we get some answers in the next day or two and to all of you as much as this is very hard Please Stay strong & positive there is an end this this somewhere. Today’s shoutouts go to: Jodi Rose for her accountability in our transformation group she is on her last week of her 12 week online transformation. Our online ICE-olation group: This week they all wore there footy team colors. Anne Robertson, Ruth Owen, Alex Buruma Jean de Waard Melisa Versace Naomi Hammond Jodi Rose & Josh, Niki, Johan & Miriam Great job guys
19.01.2022 WHAT’S HOLDING YOU BACK What’s really holding you back from taking life by the horns and achieving the very best life you can. There is always something in our head that stops us from achieving something in our lives, whether it be getting into shape, a project around the house, start eating well whatever it maybe we make some reason up that stops us.... Does this sound similar. I can’t do that, it’s too hard/ difficult? I’ll never be able to look like that? I’ll get to it later? But later never comes. Or whatever other self limiting beliefs you tell your self. Fear of failure or failing. Do you hold your self back because you feel you might fail or not succeed and you don’t want to look silly or stupid so you again do nothing. Or is it simply that you don’t really know where to start or what to do so the simple thing is to do nothing at all. I’ll let you in on a secret. I had a limiting belief. That I couldn’t blogs to clients, because I didn’t know what to write, I didn’t think I was any good at it and what if no ones reads them or likes them. So I really didn’t do many and avoided it. The fact is that when I took the time to actually look at my life and what I had accomplished, the challenges I’ve faced that might resonate with even just one client well I actually had lots that I could write about. The truth is that not everyone will like what I write about or even understand what I’m writing about and that’s ok. As long as I can reach one person, I’m happy. That might be the one thing that helps change that person’s perspective on life. It’s the same with anything we do in life, we should do it for ourselves and no one else. Sure it might challenge us and take us outside our comfort zones, but it will also make us better people. Unless you try and give something a go you will never know what you can accomplish in life. Don’t hold yourself back any longer. We are not all designed to be perfect at everything, somethings will be easy, others more challenging and the sooner you understand that it’s ok to fail or make mistakes, and it’s what we choose to do with that and tell ourselves is the key. A whole world awaits you so go out and conquer it. Push yourself to do something this week that challenges and pushes you outside your comfort zone. This week I challenge all of you to look at one thing in your life that is holding you back from achieving greatness. Ask yourself, What is holding me back! Have a great week.
14.01.2022 Good Morning Crew. We are into day 2 of our reopening and it’s been fun seeing who has kept up with some fitness and who hadn’t through lockdown. Bring on the DOMS. Just wanted to share some amazing work one of our clients does in her spare time, which isn’t a lot due to being a nurse. ... Jodi Rose has just finished our 12 week online Transformation program and I’ve loved seeing her adapt to her new normal including increasing her meal frequency. The one thing I love the most is how she has let her kids get involved in the shop n chop. Good habits lead to a healthy life. Also Jodi had aluttle side business called Resin art by Jodi Rose. Great gift ideas or for something special on the Christmas table. Enjoy this wonderful sunshine and see you in the gym.

13.01.2022 Good Morning TFFL crew. Well some good news with the lifting of the 5km limit and some family gatherings allowed. Which I’m sure has come as some relief to all of you. It’s definitely been a very challenging time for everyone and especially businesses which I’m sure we’re left feeling extremely frustrated yesterday. 11.01.2022 Highly Effective Ab Training One thing I here quite frequently as a trainer is I need more ab exercises, I haven’t done enough ab work etc. The fact is that if you perform abdominal exercises correctly and effectively, there is no need to be flogging yourself in the gym performing endless ab exercises. I have some words from an article written by a man called DR Paul Cribb PhD. ‘The biggest mistake some folks make is to turn their ab work into aerobic activity. That is ...perform hundreds of reps and exercises one after the other, in a mistaken belief this will burn fat from your midsection. Time to wake up and smell the coffee. The whole concept of effective ab training is to ensure your core is strong for the functional exercises and movements you perform each day. That’s the real reason for training your abs. And remember the more dynamic you are in your daily life, the stronger your core needs to be. That is, exercise selection and execution as well as muscle contraction should reflect an individual’s functionality. Train your abs as you would any other body part; brief yet intense and structured for progression. Instead of concerning yourself with how many reps you can do, focus on how well you can perform each rep. Always strive to achieve better execution in the current exercise and then attempt to a slightly more difficult exercise. When core exercises are performed correctly you will find that highly effective ab training requires few reps per set and lots of focus on technique. You will be surprised how few reps are required to get the job done. That is, if you can crank out 30 reps on these exercises, you are probably doing them wrong. Dr Paul Cribb PhD I hope this article helped you understand a little more about the myth behind Ab training. Yours in Health & Fitness
