25.01.2022 I have to say that motherhood sessions are my absolute favourite. Even though newborn sessions are full of squishy goodness and family shoots are so much fun. Capturing the raw beauty and power of motherhood is where I feel called to be. ... So many of us feel so lost in our motherhood journey. The constant touching, lack of sleep and huge life changes that come with parenthood often leave mums feeling out of touch with themselves. Our bodies have gone through so much and we don't always recognise the form facing us in the mirror. A motherhood photoshoot not only celebrates the bond between mother and child. It documents the metamorphosis of a woman. Like a lioness - both nurturing and dangerous, vulnerable yet fierce. Want to find out more? 25.01.2022 NEVER HAVE I EVER And never will I ever say the words "sit up straight and smile at the camera" to your kids during a session Boooooooring ... Childhood is for splashing in puddles and chasing butterflies not pretending you know how to sit still. My family sessions are fun. We run and play and listen to music - and the kids pick the songs so it's mostly baby shark, but we roll with it. If the kids want to explore, we follow their lead. Not only are our sessions more fun, but your photos will turn out better for it as well! Is it time to update your family photos? 17.01.2022 Stretch marks // I have been planning this shoot for awhile now. I had a clear vision for it and it's so exciting to finally have it come to life. I was inspired by kintsukuroi; the Japanese art of repairing a broken piece of pottery with golden joinery. ... Although the piece could easily be put back together with a clear adhesive, the kintsukuroi technique is an intentional choice to highlight the cracks rather than hide them. The repaired piece is one of a kind and is even more beautiful than before it was fractured. This artform teaches us to celebrate the path our life takes without trying to erase the cracks and chips we gain along the way. The things about stretch marks is that they always come from growth. Usually through puberty or pregnancy. But for some reason we have allowed the media to teach us that they are a flaw - something to be hidden or removed from our body. If you Google "stretch marks" you will be hit with a plethora of products, treatments and techniques to prevent or fade stretch marks (spoiler alert, none of them work). And I think thats really sad. That we have been so conditioned by a fake, unattainable standard of beauty. And as a result we believe a natural, normal part of life somehow makes us flawed. Thank you so much to @_sali86_ for trusting me with this shoot! I really hope you love this shot as much as I do, and I can't wait to share more from this shoot.

16.01.2022 WHAT YOU CAN EXPECT FROM ME NEXT YEAR? More raw moments captured More emotion... More hearful images More mama's and their precious babes More moody, film vibes More authentic work that means something More underwater shoots More skin on skin Basically; more of the things that make my heart sing To say I'm my own worst critic is honestly an huge understatement. No matter how far I come, I am always pushing myself to be better and at times comparing myself to the countless other photographers I look up to. But when I look back at where I was this time last year and how far my work has come - I am so bloody proud of myself! I have spent a lot of time, energy and money on myself and my business in 2020 and I already have plans for more of that in the new year. All this to say; if you're not exactly where you want to be, don't beat yourself up about it. Each decision can take you a step closer to where you want to be. Aaaaannnnnd if all of that sounds like the kind of thing you are looking for in a photographer, get in touch about booking a shoot for the new year

08.01.2022 3 TIPS FOR A RELAXING PHOTOSHOOT I am not a stress head, like at all. Ask anyone in my family and they will happily share the frustration that my cool, calm, "she'll be right" attitude can sometimes cause (especially in airports).... I got it from my mama, you is 1000x worse than I am. But to be perfectly honest; having to plan and prepare for a family photoshoot, that stresses me out a little. You spend weeks choosing a photographer, a location, coordinating outfits, perfectly timing your hair and nail appointments, making sure hubby doesn't come home with a weird sunglass tan or your children don't fall and bust their lip and pray that all the stress doesn't land you with a giant pimple on shoot day... Add to that the anxiety that your husband and / or children will scowl, cross their arms in every photo or just throw a whopping big tantrum. It's a lot, believe me I get it You've invested hundreds into capturing gorgeous family photos and you want them to be perfect. Maybe everything I just described is the exact reason why you've been putting off booking a shoot? Take a deep breath with me (because honestly just typing all that out has got me stressed out) It doesn't have to be like that. Family sessions should be fun, not just for kids but for you too. Here are three tips for having a relaxed family session: 1- WEAR WHAT MAKES YOU COMFORTABLE As photographers we will provide a styling guide and lots of tips and tricks for dressing the family for a shoot. We will teach you how to achieve the look and feel of our photos - which is probably one of the main reasons you booked with us. But ultimately the most important thing is to feel like YOU. If dressing to the nines feels comfortable - go for it But if a comfy outfit and no makeup is how you feel your best, do just that! Family photos should represent your actual family and your actual personalities not just be a copy and paste of a family you found on pinterest. CONTINUED IN COMMENTS

06.01.2022 We don't need to teach our daughters how to be beautiful - because they already are. Instead teach them to be strong, resilient, kind and compassionate. To treat people with respect and dignity regardless of outward appearance.... To love their body in every shape and size that it takes. And to go easy on themselves when life gets too much and to know when and how to ask for help.
