19.01.2022 And so it begun ... The rep season that is !!! After a Covid Break, the GDHA rep season has hit the ground running today!!! Our mighty U11s hit the road early today (no doubt wishing their mums a super happy mothers day when getting dragged out of bed at 6am!!) to Moorebank for their first carnival for 2021 (and for some their first 11s carnival E.V.E.R!)... Our U11/1 Girls team, coached by Sally Galland and managed by Elle Douglas, report: "All played really well as a team, improved as the day went on. Came equal first in pool, equal goals for, equal goals against & came down to the result against Newcastle which we lost 1.0. 17.01.2022 Just a quick post to confirm that the contractors will be at the complex again tomorrow working on the new turf area. Please be aware there will be a dozer and roller in action, which may create some noise and dust. They are working to get in front of the rain due next week and will do their best to minimise disruption to our members.... Please be mindful of this when at the complex, and ensure you adhere to the new turf/complex movements diagram as attached. Thank you to all members who followed this direction last weekend, it was greatly appreciated.

16.01.2022 Anyone interested in the shock pad from the western turf? There is an abundance at the facility and is free to **ANY** home In 1.2m wide x approx 6-7m rolls. The more that is collected the less they have to cart away.... N.B The turf carpet pull up was unsuccessful (tore and shredded when it was pulled up) but the shock pad has come up much better then expected. INBOX US FOR DETAILS PLEASE NOTE The offer of this shock pad for collection is an offer of GOOD WILL with an expectation that our members/friends of members/ex-members will not try and ON-SELL the shock pad for any $$$ let alone $100.00 per roll!!!! Simply not acceptable!!

14.01.2022 Well the #SuperCamp 2020 has now been completed and rumour has it our own Ben Staines smashed it with no injuries and done MASSIVE KLMS every game and training session! Lets hope his impressed the right people and we have another Olympian on our hands!! Good luck Ben!! Now to wait for the news!!!... Travel home safe!!!

08.01.2022 With the wet forecast this weekend please note IF THE TURF IS SAFE AND PLAYABLE..... WE PLAY GDHA WET WEATHER POLICY... Goulburn District Hockey Association and its volunteers (including coaches and umpires) have a duty of care to ensure that players are as safe as is reasonably possible when participating in matches. In relation to wet weather conditions, the individuals required to determine whether a match goes ahead or is abandoned need to consider this policy before the commencement of each match. The decision is to be made by Team Coaches/Manager in conjunction with the appointed umpires. If the Team Coaches and Umpires cannot mutually agree to postpone or play the match, a member of the GDHA Executive Committee or Complex Manager will have the overriding decision. Matches can be delayed by up to 15 minutes to allow for a more suitable weather condition or playable surface. In this instance, no extra time can be added to the games allocated time slot and this delay shall come out of the playing time. It is important that that game clock is started at the scheduled game time (as per the draw) so correct timings elapse prior to any decisions being made. The description of an unplayable surface is if the majority of the turf has pools of water on it and ball not being able to travel more than 20 metres at a time. In matches that are delayed, half time can be shortened to 1 minute to allow more playing time. No game should be postponed or abandoned prior to this 15 minute period. If a match is postponed or abandoned, information should be passed on to our Secretary by text 0407 998 754 for a decision as to the future of the match. IMPORTANT: in the event that the game has started and then been delayed, attention should be given to the amount of time remaining in the game and the score line at the point the match was abandoned. This information should be conveyed to the Secretary by email [email protected]. In the event that all games of a particular division are not completed, the entire round will be deemed a washout round regardless of if a game starts and then is not completed.

02.01.2022 GDHA Regional Hockey Complex It is with great pleasure we can confirm the announcement by Member for Goulburn, Wendy Tuckerman MP, that the NSW Government will provide $3.8million funding to the Goulburn Mulwaree Council to upgrade our facility and secure a home for hockey in the Goulburn Region. As part of the overall funding and agreement, not only will the Goulburn Mulwaree Council become the owners of the land on which hockey is located but also includes the immedia...te upgrade of the western turf to a water based surface, upgrading all field lighting, additional and upgraded changerooms and amenities and a 132 car space carpark!! The opportunities this will bring to Goulburn District Hockey and the region are endless! We, as an Association, wish to express our overwhelming thanks to Wendy Tuckerman and the NSW Government as well as the Goulburn Mulwaree Council for all the work they have done to secure the funding to get this project off the ground. Last but not least a massive thank you to our hockey community for their support and, in particular, their patience in waiting for this opportunity and confirmation. To have a permanent home for hockey now is a great relief and opportunity for us all as an Association. Very exciting times ahead!!! Let the fun begin!!
