25.01.2022 Do you know there are some regular household products that be harmful to your dog!? Here are five things that you probably have around your house but don't know... are toxic to dogs: 1. Fabric softener: Fabric softener is highly toxic for dogs, they affect the mucus membranes in the eyes and skin, and can cause fluid build in the lungs. 2. Rawhide dog chews: When not stored properly, the can host harmful bacteria such as Salmonella. 3. Dishwashing tablets: You might be surprised to know that dishwashing tablets are much more dangerous for dogs than regular soap! 4. Hand creams and face creams: More often than not, these creams contain Vitamin D which can cause seizures, vomiting, diarrhea, or an abnormal heart rhythm. 5. Asthma puffers: Commonly contain Albuterol which can be deadly for dogs when the container is punctured If you observe sudden physical changes in your dog or suspect your dog has consumed something poisonous, it’s best to contact your vet immediately. A lot of pets get surrendered or euthanised for reasons that could have been avoided or preventable, so we have created Pet Promise Day, a national awareness day that will bring about awareness and education that will educate people on what it takes to own a pet, picking the best pet for them. This will help reduce the number of pets being surrendered or euthanised and help compliment our charity Living Ruff in SA in helping keep people and pets together. Pet Promise Day

For those who would like to know why today is the day we commemorate ANZAC DAY, this message from the Australian War Memorial is powerful: "The Australian and New Zealand forces landed on Gallipoli on 25 April, meeting fierce resistance from the Ottoman Turkish defenders. What had been planned as a bold stroke to knock Turkey out of the war quickly became a stalemate, and the campaign dragged on for eight months. At the end of 1915 the allied forces were evacuated from the peninsula, with both sides having suffered heavy casualties and endured great hardships. More than 8,000 Australian soldiers had died in the campaign. Gallipoli had a profound impact on Australians at home, and 25 April soon became the day on which Australians remembered the sacrifice of those who died in the war.

08.01.2022 Today marked the 4th instalment of our GGAP Pack Walk. A wonderful day with 9 Greys and a Fox Terrier on a lovely outing. The greys were very well behaved and the Terrier was very patient with all the attention! One of our volunteer coordinator's even got a kiss from a very affectionate little lady! Why don't you join us next month on the second Saturday in November, and come and find out more about this wonderful breed, we can assure you that you will fall in love with them, just as we have! Thanks to everyone who came today, and we look forward to next month's pack walk!

The collars consist of two loops, the first looks like a traditional nylon collar which is adjusted to your dog’s neck.
