25.01.2022 It is summer. Time to make beautiful Pesto with the basil from our garden. I know there are many different recipes for Pesto but this is what I do. 80 g grated Parmesan cheese 30 g pine nuts 1 garlic clove 2 full cups fresh basil leaves... 150 g good quality extra virgin olive oil from the Goulburn-Strathbogie Region. teaspoon salt Blend it altogether in a food processor or use a pestle and mortar. Put it in sterilized jars and pour a little olive oil on the top to stop discolouration. You can keep it like that in the fridge for a few weeks but who would want to. We use it on fresh pasta but it is also excellent on fish, toast or as a dip with vegetables. Delicious! You can freeze it in the jar for use later. See more

21.01.2022 Last weekend GSOGA members visited Salute Olives and Boundary Bend´s groves at Boort. There's always something new to learn seeing what other growers are doing well, and Boundary Bend and Salute are very impressive.

18.01.2022 Frantoio olive trees with an excellent crop of olives. They will be harvested very soon to produce the fresh and fruity extra virgin olive oil typical of our Goulburn Strathbogie region.

15.01.2022 The olives are getting bigger!

14.01.2022 There's a myth that has been passed around and accepted as truth... "Olive oil has a low smoke point and should not be used for cooking." Heck, I passed this ...myth around for years. It turns out, REAL olive oil is loaded with antioxidants and polyphenols which protect the oil even when cooking. What's more important than the smoke point is something called polar compounds. There was a study conducted on the top 10 most popular cooking oils, the results were shocking. The study revealed olive oil being one of the best oils to cook with because it produced the least amounts of these toxic polar compounds. [1] There's a caveat here. Most of the olive oil found in your grocery store doesn't live up to the hype. This is why I sat down with The Olive Oil Hunter himself, Tj Robinson, from Fresh Pressed Olive Oil. On this episode of The Keto Kamp Podcast, we dive deep into the amazing benefits of olive oil. We also do a live taste testing during the interview! Listen to this episode today, available on all podcast platforms worldwide. (see links below)

14.01.2022 Olive flowers are opening in the goulburn strathbogie region! Early days yet with halkidiki and coratina leading the way, but looking good for next year.

11.01.2022 We agree. We can taste differences between oils from different regions. Our Goulburn Strathbogie oils do have some very special flavours. Have you tried them?
