25.01.2022 Define the behaviors your company should promoteThey are important because it’s easier to act your way into a new way of thinking than to think your way into a new way of acting. In other words, it’s easier to lace up your shoes and go to the gym than to make yourself believe you love going to the gym.

19.01.2022 What gets in the way of real love in the workplace is similar to what gets in the way of us experiencing love in the rest of life: sorting through and healing the wounding from our past. Ali Schultz wrote this in a blog post inspired by the Reboot podcast, hosted by author and VC founder Jerry Colonna. In December last year, Fiona and Matt announced that 2020 would be a year of love for our GO-VA tribe. We had no idea how apt that choice would turn out to be. We embark ...on the journey to real love when we begin making choices to respond to the world differently than our creature brain and the coping mechanisms that got us through the various and sundried parts of life, to where we are now. We learn what it means to be ourselves and how to love and accept that self first. #ActWithLove

17.01.2022 How often do you use I versus we or you when communicating with customers? There’s a recent MIT Sloan webinar How to Speak to Customers to Build Trust where the speakers Grant Packard, Brent McFerran, and Sarah Moore shared some ideas for connecting better. One of their findings came up after they examined 1,277 email interactions by customer service agents for an online retailer. The more I pronouns agents used in their emails, the higher sales were. The use of y...ou or we, on the other hand, had no observable effect on subsequent purchases. The presenters explained that the use of I signaled to customers that the person speaking to them cared, and this has a significant impact on sales. Thoughts?

17.01.2022 We are grateful for Zoe Routh, author and host of The Zoe Routh Leadership Podcast, who helps so many business leaders get the people stuff right. There’s so much to learn and there’s so much opportunity to be gained in a crisis, Zoe said, but it takes presence of mind to get past the panic that can happen when there’s so much uncertainty. Zoe and Fiona talked about bravery, gratitude, and some effective culture and essential people stuff ideas in this episode of the The Zoe Routh Leadership Podcast. We’d love to listen to your ideas and questions!
