24.01.2022 Introducing 2 Vegans & a Hangi. Overall winner of the Australian Pie Awards. With a Gold, 3 Silver and a Bronze the Thai Vegetable Curry. Yes, true story the first time a non-meat pie has won. And, with a gold, a silver and two bronze medals, another vegan pie is the Chilli Con Carne. First entered in the Veggie section, the judges thinking it a meat pie moved into the meat category. But there are no animal products to speak of in this excellent pie.... And lastly is the unique taste of NZ, the Hangi pie (Hung-ee). Smoked pork, with sweet & roast potatoes simmered in a rich gravy. Now that's Ka Pai. Get on down to Gove Pizza & Cafe, open from 7.30am Tuesday to Friday, Saturday from 9.30am More introductions to come.

22.01.2022 Emergency at Gove Pizza & Cafwell not really, its just that our oven is broken, kaput, knackered, in need of repair. So, well not (nor can we) be trading until such time as that is fixed. The ever-splendid people of Morningside Electrical are having the parts flown in on their private Lear-jet, so hopefully well be up & running before Friday; but its hard to know. Weve tried pedal-power & blow torch but, wellit didnt work. So, dear patrons, stay calm, breathe, keep wailing and gnashing of teeth to a minimum (tantrums outdoors can be cathartic though) and well back soon. Look at the positive, this could be an opportunity to try vegetables. Peace

Stock, and the running out thereof: we now have the necessary freezer capacity to handle the tripling of the products we need and you want. From next Tuesday we should have everything we need for a complete menu. To give you an idea, we used to sell around 130 burgers per week to supplement the pizzas, last month we sold around 2000 burgers. A...dded to that, the enormous qualities of our thick-shakes youve been buying - logistics have been stretched to breaking point. Hours: Theyve been all over the show due to stock issues. From Monday the 4th of March well be open every night. And Tuesday to Saturday daytime too. Go to Gove Pizza & Caf on facebook, or govepizza.com.au for full list of hours. This week well be open Tuesday 26th to Friday 1st 8am-9.00pm, Saturday 2nd & Sunday 3rd 5.00pm-9.00pm. Menu: A new simple daytime menu has been devised for daytime trade. See in-store. 17.01.2022 Ahem, Gove Pizza & Cafe is still experiencing technical difficulties with its oven - an oven that cooks all the pizzas and burgers. Figuring that you've all had your fill of our splendid fried chicken for a few days, we'll be closed tonight and most likely tomorrow night too. We expect to return to trade Tuesday morning at 7.30am. Peace.

11.01.2022 A couple of New Zealand lads living in Melbourne had the idea of making New Zealand quality meat pies (and a couple of vegan ones) in Australia. Taking the commonly known (to New Zealanders anyway) Maori word Ka Pai, meaning 'good', created a portmanteau name with one of Australasia's best loved foods; and Ka Pies (Car Pies to you lot) was born. Its been a long journey, but they are here. As of 8.30am Wednesday morning these award winning (ahem, they thrashed everyone else it seems) pies will be available at Gove Pizza & Café. Opening Special: order two and pay for both. Limited to 1000 pies per person. Hohoro!!
